Refreshed!

Feeling slightly better today as compared to the last two days.

Now I get tired easily and usually by 4pm, my eyes will start to droop and get goggy, by 6pm I'm both drained and hungry, by 9pm I will yawn non stop and by 11pm, I'm already concussed and in lala land.

Fwah. What a drastic change from my usual lifestyle!

The appetite has not been really affected so far (choy! choy!). Though really hungry at times, I could only just finish half or three quarter of the normal portion. I'm don't want to overstuff myself, so trying to eat small meals more frequently instead of gobbling down 3 full meals everyday.

Hubby Goh has been super sweet to me. He sends me to the office and ensures that I have breakfast before zooming off to work. It's just that sometimes I wish he can knock off early so that I need not wait for him in hunger.

I know it's kinda early, but I'm starting to get a little absent-minded now. Just this morning, I forgot to switch off the toilet lights after using it and Hubby Goh has to turned it off for me. Talk about karma, I could have scolded him too much in the past that it is coming back to me now...haha.

Happie!

I'm happie about how things turned out, and I'm crossing my fingers that all things will work out fine.

I could only say that it has been amazing and this incident has further strengthened my faith in Daimouku. I'm very thankful and I'm touched, no other things can express my amount of gratitute now. 妙法不可思义, I will always remember that.

In Shock

I dunno if it's true but I'm still recovering from shock on what I saw earlier.

Shall confirm it later and spread the good news if it's true.

Sunday Bliss ~~

Woke up with the sun shining on my arse in the morning. Could feel the butt and thigh strained after last evening's session at the gym. Hubby Goh asked if I could skip gym today for him cos' he didn't have to go back to the office (rare!) and he wanted to bring me to this special place for brunch. For a record, he has been wanting to bring me to this restaurant since six months back but to no avail.

So we headed for the east and came to this secret place tucked in one corner of Siglap. Big Ben's Place is the name, and they serve piping hot pies and main courses like chicken chop, fish n chips, steaks and etc from 12pm onwards to 7pm on Sunday.

We ordered a Chicken and Mushroom pie to share, I had a Chicken Chop with Mushroom sauce (chef's recommendation!), and Hubby Goh had the United Nations (3 types of different cute sausages).

I thought the pie was ordinary...the crust was a little too thick for my liking and I couldn't really taste the chicken nor mushrooms in the filling...wierd. Don pies are still my all-time favourite, currently, no one can replace its status yet.

But I give the Chicken Chop a thumbs up! It was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Really sedap! The mushroom sauce was deliciously good too, not too saltish or diluted, juz the way I like it *grin*

Hubby Goh's United Nation was not too bad though I will not highly recommend (the top sausage tasted a little soggy). I think their winning dish was the Chicken Chop...beat all other dishes hands down la..

It was a quiet brunch reading the papers, nipping the food and sipping ice lemon tea on a Sunday afternoon. Simple but yet romantic. I wish we could do this often :)

Saturday: 24 Mar

Oh, can you beat that? The scorching sun was blazing the whole afternoon and now it's pouring cats and dogs? Phew! Good thing I brought in the almost dried laundry before I came to the room!

Went to the gym earlier for my 45mins orientation session with the trainer. I'm seriously weak, I think. Couldn't really manage the machines well, many a times the trainer had to lend a hand (literally!) to ensure that I could finish 2 sets of practice on each.

"Push harder, push harder..." I hear him encouraging me. I tried, but the abs machine was darn tough so I bargained to reduce each set to 12 times than the usual 15. Haha.

"Aiyo, like that how to achieve your goals huh?" That arsehole suan me.

He don't know how to die issit? Hmpf! I juz started gyming only what, give me sometime to pick up the momentum can? *pout*

Anyway, after the orientation, I stayed on and ran/brisk walked on the treadmill for 30mins more. Good sweating session. If I feel fine tomorrow, shall go for the cycle class.

So much about exercising.

Last week, TT had this sudden urge to check out beads store at Arab Street. We stumbled on this ah neh textile store and saw that they sell really nice iron-on swaroski crystals. We went woo woo and ah ah checking out the catalogue and finally I couldn't give in to the temptation and bought one to try!

The design...have yet to iron on to the tee..

Before:

After:

Swee bor? I like it so much that I wore it today! Hubby Goh even thought that it was a new tee I bought recently!

I wanna get more and design my own tees! Hee!

Loreal Sales Today!

Still deliberating whether I should go.

Firstly, I dun need more cosmetics. Secondly, I dun use Loreal skincare. Lastly, I'm afraid that I might end up buying junks like I used to in the past few trips to the sale.

Fret.

I think I shall forgo. Better to get sports bras. Now only have two and it's really not enough to go around if I go to the gym 3 times a week. In fact, was forced to do laundry last night, so I forgo gym today cos' the 2 bras are not dried yet. Hmfph!

Ivy is nursing her flu so I told her to stop gymming at the moment and get plenty of rest these 2 days till the wkend comes. I hope she will recover soon so that we can gym together soon...she has become my motivation for gym!

Hubby Goh took my last 20 bucks last night cos' he was rushing for an appt. I then forgot to go to the ATM and now only have 70 cents in the wallet! Wa ha ha ha...

Combat & Body Balance Classes

Decided to learn something new yesterday so I hopped over to GWC together with Ivy for the Combat & Body Balance classes by Sue.

Aiyo, Combat classes damn tough ok? Every movement has to be done swift and fast and I is like a complete maron, having difficulties coordinating both the legs and the hands, haha! Sue kept looking out to me and correct my moves, sibey embarrassing can? Simi uppercut la, step kick, side kick...damn slap forehead! I juz wanna kick that stupid gal in front of me who has been getting in my way lor! Urgghh..

Body balance class on the other hand is much slower than Combat. Something like yoga but easier to manage. Just that I have problems doing the bird pose or even the injured bird pose as what Sue has stressed. The abs krunches are still ok but I simply can't lift myself using either arms...too weak la!

Now my legs are aching, but hey, they said having muscle aches mean you had a good workout...so there...

Ser stood me up again last night for the classes, so I'm not going to jio her anymore. *snort*

If the muscle aches recovered by tmr, I will go to Suntec for the cycle class!

My Coach Bags

Returned to the office today after a day's break and was greeted with a carton on my desk.

Anxiously, I tore opened the box and found my two new Coach Bags smiling to me. Yea! They are here! Finally!!

Been longing to own a Coach bag sometime back but somehow the designs I like were not available in S'pore's boutiques. Fortunately I remembered that Steven is working in L.A. so I got him to buy and freight them to me. After much calculations, it wasn't that expensive after all since I get to split the freight cost with a colleague (she bought 2 too!)...I is happy today!

Bag No. 1: My SOHO Signature HOBO

Bag No. 2: My Signature Mini Crossbody - is a little too small than I thought, can only fit my coach wallet and handphone the most, but well, it's still sweet and I'm gonna use it this weekend! Hee..

Gals, if you are keen to buy too, let me know and I can get Steven to help, but he's gonna charge a 10% handling fees of the total bag costs besides the freight. Still worth it I tell you, Coach is never so cheap lor *grin*

F.I.T. Project No.3

Yesterday's Cycle Class was excellent!

It could be quite tough if I didn't cheat a little. Haha...see, we're supposed to add more intensity as we proceeded to the next section, but I juz kept to the same level as I didn't wanna over exert myself on my first cycle class. It felt especially good when the perspiration flowed like an open tap and dripped all over the body like in the shower. Damn shiok when you see your sweat dripping all over the bike and the laminate floor..haha...

Bumped into Ser at the gym. That woman never jio. I suspected it was her when she was doing brisk walking on the treadmill and I wasn't sure it was her till she was warming down just outside my class. She kinda stoned when she saw me, probably felt guilty that she never jio or rejected me early last week when I asked her along to vivo studio. Anyway, she waited for me to wash up and we caught up for some late lunch and went hunting for my new running shoes.

No lah, I'm not being spendthrift. Juz that my old pair is getting err...OLD? My sole kinda hurt if I ran more than 15mins on the treadmill and it doesn't provide enough cushioning on my feet when I was pedalling. I didn't wanna spend more than a hundred bucks on the shoes, so I settled for this pair of newly launched Nike. Provides good cushioning and the sole got dual intensity somemore, felt so light on my feet that I didn't bother checking out Addidas or Asics..hee! Check out my matching Nike socks...on discount leh, only $7.90 a pair! Lucky the shoes didn't come in orbit colours....*snigger*

These are the loot I bought at the recent Adiddas sale. I know, I have bought enough, 3 sets should suffice my alternate day gym regime. Bleh.

And last but not least, a pair of cheap flip flops for bathing use. Have been using hubby goh's slippers for the past 3 times and since this new pair is cheap, I grab lah! No need to hear his naggings anymore...yeh...!

I declare officially that I'm done with all the shoppings for this PROJECT!

She Speaks Chinese..haha..

It was the niece's Chinese Class's term review last Wed. We rushed from work to attend, here's a snippet of her class's performance.

If you're wondering, she's the one in pink, standing in front of the boy in yellow and green. She kinda outgrown her mates huh? Haha...

Pump Class

Made my way to FES last evening after work. Gosh! Raffles MRT was like a human warefare, everyone was marching in all directions and zooming around like loonies. And mind you, these people are rude rude rude! They don't give way, they stare, and they dun apologise when they collided into you! Simply unforgiving....they are white-collar workers leh!

Anyway, pump class was good last night with Andrew. It was not difficult to catch up, all thanks to Ivy who helped to orientate me with all the weights! Maintained all my weights at 1kg all thru' the class cos' it was my first and I wanna ascertain my tolerance level for weights. After the class, we still proceed for half an hour on the treadmill. It's not surprising that my stamina has gone way down...did only 3 clicks for half an hour...really bad bad bad..

Was expecting to have aches around the body this morning, but no, it was juz some mild muscle ache on the arms, abs and the thighs. I didn't wanna push myself too hard first to avoid being injured, take a step at a time, slow and steady la!

Hmm..I wanna try cycle at Vivo this Sun...

Watching the Diet

You're gonna hear me ranting on eating healthy for a long time now.

Been really watching what I eat lately. Like yesterday, I had grapes and jap cucumbers for breakfast while in the car to the office. Lunch was a ham and mushroom bread + my self-made salad that was a mix of lettuce, carrots, more jap cucumbers and green grapes and some italian croutons as bonus. Dressing was natural italian vinegratte, it was only 1.5 tablespoons full as it can be really sinful. And I didn't even finish them all. For dinner, it was a sugar-coated doughnut ball from a colleague (can't turn down..she insisted!) and the usual fresh fish clear soup at Plaza Sing which left me in hunger by 11pm. Hah!

Trying to change my eating pattern to 5 small meals daily. It's more healthy this way for the system then gobbling down 3 big meals each day. I'm giving myself 6 months to cut 5kg and tone up the flabby arms and elephant thighs. Boy! I do sound like an undesirable biatch!

This evening it'll be gym again. Ivy wants to bring me to the FES branch, said the cycle instructor is fab. I want to check it out myself..hehe. Hope he's yummilicious too!

On the other hand, been thinking...we eat healthily, we exercise well...but in the end we still die...so what's all the fuss about?!

Life's wierd.

So UnFIT

Pondering over the physical assessment test result I took last night at PF.

The results were not very ideal:

1. I have mild high blood pressure - but that's becos' it was in the genes, I cld have got it from the mummy
2. Poor cardio - my heart has to pump extra hard while doing 3mins of step ups = weak!
3. Poor flexibility - I can't do the sit and reach thingy rather well, but that's cos' I have a slight spinal prob since young
4. Avg bicep strength - this I already know...my arms are to weak for anything except shopping bags!

Conclusion:
I'm 31 but my bodyage is 39 years old!!!

I nearly freaked out seeing the results! OMG!

But that's what I'm there for right? To build my cardio and get fit!

I am so wana get my body back in shape and feel good again!

So last night after the test, waited for Ivy to finish her spinning class before we ended the night with Sunset Yoga with Anil.

Aiyo...that Anil is super flexible lor (yah, if not how can he be the Yoga instructor?!). He can twist here twist there without any difficulties and his sense of balancing was commendable. I cldn't really master the postures really well and I have problems balancing myself cos' tall people has a lower CG (center of gravity) than shorter people. Ivy did rather well, but that's becos' she has been a seasoned goer for 4 years!

Next session? Target to go for the spinning class in GWC studio!

F.I.T. Project No.2

So, tonight is the night!

It will be my first official class with Planet Fitness. My darling fren Ivy will be there to orientate me, so nice of her! She's such a seasoned member with PF that everyone knows her just the mention of her name. Haha..

Barry only gave me a complimentary shoe bag as the welcome gift but Ivy screamed at him over the phone last night and he relented and promised her that he will give me a gym bag tonight. See her power?

This year's resolution? Get lean and fit. Am also motivated to take up more beading courses (advance) so that I can progress to the next level. Time to learn something useful, especially that I have always been keen in craft and adore accessories. Been dreaming of the day I quit my day job and take on the new role of a beads tai tai. Muhahaha.

So sleepy after lunchie, if not for the gym class tonight, I wouldn't have taken rice. Carbos never fail to make me sleepy! Urgh.

Sengmook Goes to Class!

It was back to school yesterday and it was all so fun.

Signed up for the Jewellery-making Experience Class with Bead Hub with a colleague (TT) to have an overview of modern jewellery making and learn the techniques of making our own necklace and earrings.

The course instructor, Tanja, had 22 years of jewellery-making experience. She was thorough and patient, and ensured that we got all the steps and techniques right while choosing the stones, the design and stringing the beads together.

Making the necklace takes a longer time, you have to get the procedures right to string the beads together and ensuring the toggle clasp is done properly to avoid the bead wire from giving way.

I had a great time and so did TT (below).

The course lasted for a good 2 hrs but TT took an hour more cos' he wasn't satisfied with his design and keep re-arranging over and over again. Haha. He was the only thorn among the roses in the class, Tanja even teased if he took up the class for "someone in mind".

This is the working board (below) that you require to work with. The nos. there indicate inches and cm, they serve as a guide for you to guage how long you wanna make for your necklace and bracelet.

Ta-da! The final product:

Necklace -

Earrings -

Was telling Hubby Goh that earrings are alot easier to make then necklace and he was suggesting that I should venture in this and start on my little business in selling self-make earrings. Hmm, sounds like a good idea, but first I wanna do some research and explore the designs in the market. Am not really a big fan of natural beads and stones, so I like to see if other materials are available and put on my creative cap to come up with nice designs.

Keen on the course? Go on and sign up with Bead Hub!

IT Show 2007

Took a trip down to the IT Show during lunchie.
Sigh..always the same old thing, such a bore. I finished the 3 levels of exhibition within juz an hour. Nothing really caught my eye and juz when I was about to leave, this spa booth tucked at one corner drew my attention and within 5mins, I signed up for a spa package, smiling to myself.

Haha...it's such a joke lor, going to IT show, didn't buy any IT related stuff but ended up buying a spa package.

They call it the Ultimate Cellulite-less Massage that comes with a complimentary Mandilulur full body scrub. Duration: 90mins. Price: only S$48.

Haha...not bad right?

Go and see for yourself, they are at Hall 603, Booth 6406, The Ultimate Spa (located at Shaw Center and Civil Service Club at Bukit Batok).

Unlucky Day

Hubby's baby (car) was kissed in the arse by some stupid fellow early in the morning. The bumper is dented and his boot can't close! Arrggg...my poor hubby goh is so so heartbroken!

And I'm such a sotong today, forgot to bring my wallet out! Could have left it on the dining table when I was swopping handbags last night. Sigh...what is going on?? Must be the trip...I must be still dreaming about the incentive trip..Hahaha...

Well, the trip went well. My legs are still aching from crawling the tunnel. It was only 100metres and my legs gave way. See how weak am I? But it was no joke in the tunnel. It's amazing how those Viet Cong can survive in there daily during the war, I could hardly breathe in there! I remembered I was panting so hard and only halfway through, I started to ask how long to go to reach the destination. My MD (who is in front of me in the tunnel) keep laughing and teased that I'm such a goo-niang. But hey! I was the only gal in the group that has the courage to go into the tunnel ok? Don't play play...

Could have done more shopping if the city tours weren't delayed. Ended up only had an hr of shopping at Ben Thanh Market and most of the time was spent buying shoes for the mummies and the niece. Regretted not buying the dark brown bag with flowery embroideries bag and the cute little pouch with the red puppy. Sigh..too late..all too late... :(

These are part of the stuff I bought...most are for friends and family...not for muar..
The latest fashion in HCM.
I like these cute lingerie bag..good for travelling!

My new birkies-wannabe! I like the designs!

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

Hello from HCM!

Yes, I'm back in the diplomatic city of Vietnam.

Just finished a hot bubble bath in my Sheraton Deluxe Room ;) and it didn't stop there, I hopped over to the shower room which has the mid jets spraying on my back..sooo soooo damn shiok!

Arrived here late in the afternoon and then off we went to bring our guests out for a local French dinner. It was the first meal and all of them gave the thumbs up. I've never had a 3.5hrs French dinner in my life, but well, there's always a first time *grin*

After the sumptuous dinner, the group went separate ways. Some headed for more drinks (cos' they didn't have enough of the whites we had!), the dirty old men went for their "happening" afternight activities, and the rest (like me!) gone back to their hotel room to rest.

Sigh. I juz don't understand men. What is it that they can't keep their dick in their pants? And the best part was one of them came with the wife and lied to her that he is going for "some drinks" with my Mgt. Give up. Even my Sales Director and Sales Manager are a big disappointment. What would their wives do if they know about their husbands' philandering habits. I don't wish to know lor.

Gotta turn in now, tmr's program starting at 8am...urrgghh..going to crawl the famous Cu Chi tunnel... *oh no!*

Chek what Chek?

Chewing on a piece of bak kua juz now and suddenly recalled a hilarious incident last Friday.

I wrapped up my work late for the day cos I had called for a meeting with my gals for updates and progress check before I leave for HCM on Monday. It was about 8-ish when the hubby came to pick me up, so not wanting to spend too much time on brainstorming where to head for a quick bite, we ended up at Suntec since I wanted to get the pair of Nike pants too.

Horrors of horrors, we realised that we have made the wrong choice cos' Suntec was having this Career Fair 07 and most of the restaurants were packed to the brim and there were hardly any seats in the foodcourt either. We thought foodcourt will be a better choice cos' the turnover rate should be faster, people come and go when they have finished their meals.

And so the hubby spotted a vacant seat from a distance. But we noticed that a lady, errmm..well, not exactly one, should be woman I think, was standing right in front the vacant bench. It wasn't sure if she was chopping the seat (cos' she juz stood there motionless!), and since both Hubby and I were famished, we didn't care and juz plong ourselves to the available seat. Within a split second, the woman turned around in dismay, gave me a killer stare and purposely did a loud "chek" using her stupid mouth.

I mean, hey, if you have found a seat and wish to reserve it while your friends are on your way, just sit down and indicate to others that THIS IS YOUR SEAT. Don't let people guessing if the seat has been taken, just SIT DOWN and we will all know. So simple!

Hubby Goh said he felt guilty for snatching her seat, but I said that it's not our fault, there's nothing to feel bad about. If she thinks that it is her seat, and she's pissed that we have taken her seat, she could have juz came over to us and said that she has reserved the seat and I would have given her back the seat willingly. And since she did the uncivilised "chek" and gave us the unfriendly stare, she can jolly well go fly kite and go stand next to some other seats to reserve them for her friends. WTF?!

Anyway, we seemed to be fated to cross each other's path that night. When we finished our dinner and were on the way out of the foodcourt, we bumped into her again! This time, Hubby and I got naughty and did a combined "chek" back to her...

Shiok! Revenge never taste so sweet before...

Haha...

F.I.T. Project No.1

Pretty excited about going back to gym and classes again. 13 March is the day!
A personal trainer will be assessing my fitness level and tekan me thereafter. No la, he won't be attached to me all through, but just there to ensure that I know where and what to start with on my programme.

And so I went into some shopping frenzy last Thu. Was actually looking for cardio pants but turned out that I bought tops instead! Haha...and I was a cheapskate. Didn't really want to spend a bomb on gym gear, so tried my luck at "Why Pay More" first.

Ok lah, these 2 tops only cost me $50, the "big" renovation sale was not too bad and they got the size I need too ("L")...so what else should I complain about??

Nike stuff really pricey! One pair of long cardio pants will cost about $80. It looks flattering on my thunder thighs la, but $80 for a pair of pants is really expensive. After combing the entire outlet for half an hr, I finally bought the 3/4 one which was on 20% discount. I know I'm el cheapo, but can save then save lor.

Still hunting for another pair of pants though. Hubby Goh started to nag that I'm such a vainpot, wasting money on new gym gear.

Oh well, what do men know? Looking good forms part of our motivation to work harder in the gym! And it really does feel good if you know that you looks good....muhahaha.
