Yay! It's Gonna Be a Looong Wkend Ahead!

Trying to clear some leave here and there, I can't believe it, I still have 10 more days to clear before end June and it's gonna be May in a couple of days' time! How ah?

Haven't really quite decide what to do on Monday. I think I will be bored to death at home, maybe can finish up a few episodes of Prison Break II (yes! I got the rest of the episodes liao!!) then find some kakis for dinner. Shopping has been a chore so far cos' I simply can't find anything for the little bulge right now. It's neither here nor there so it's been a headache on what to buy so that it can last me throughout the full term. Getting maternity wear is a little too early too, and it's still a big question mark how big and far my poor tummy can go....sigh sigh...

Ate like a carnivore last night..haha. Had special cravings on Ribs, esp. Tony Roma ribs, so Hubby Goh brought me the Suntec branch and ordered me a half slab baby back ribs. It was so much meat that I felt so sinful today and had alot of veggies for my Yong Tau Foo during lunchie.

Energy level is still relatively low right now, so bad that I fell asleep in the car after the Ribs Galore last night. I'm never like that in the past and I hate the feeling of always tired...hope things get better in the next trimester, else gotta whack bb's backside when it's out..hehe..

The Rasa Sentosa rooms are booked...yippie! We are so gonna have great fun at Jeff and Serene's wedding!

Tuesday Rant

Am blogging while waiting for my fish porridge to come. It's pouring crazy outside and the colleagues refused to let me go get wet in the rain so they are buying back for me instead. I love these people :) But I'm getting a little hungry already...

Well, noticed that the tummy is starting to bulge a little. So fast leh. Though I can still fit into the regular clothes, it can get abit tight and uncomfy at the waist after meals. That reminds me, I will soon not have a waist anymore! How sad! Was shopping with Hubby Goh last Sunday, checking out some of the maternity clothes. Fwah, they are freaking ugly can? Although it's only wearing for a couple of months before delivery, but I simply can't picture myself wearing those. Over my dead body, that is!

Maybe should drop by Forever 21 at Vivo sometime this week. They have some really sweet babydoll tops and dresses, but always very pricey. Anyway, I haven't been buying a decent piece of clothes for coming to a month, so yeah...itchy hands already..hehe..

Was over the phone with the sista earlier. Suddenly she has a change of view and is contemplating to try for a second one cos' little Megen has been asking for a little didi or meimei to play with. Actually we have been urging her to have another kid all these while, but she's concern about the increased family expenditures and whether she and the hubby can afford to shower the same attention as they did for the first one. I can understand her point of view, cos' afterall parenthood is not easy and alot of commitment is required when you have kids. I also dunno if I will want to go through pregnancy the second time as everything is still a big question mark now. Been thinking alot to myself lately...not sure if I can be a good mother for Junior Goh in future, it's not juz me and Hubby Goh anymore, many of the decisions we make will revolve around the little one and thinking of the impacts and consequences that might occur. It has suddenly become a major life-changing situation now that it gives me the creeps at times. I know we wanted this to happen badly all these while, and now that our dream finally came true, I felt that we are like standing in the middle of a cross junction, thinking and deciding which's the right direction to head to.

Sigh..I dunno...I think it must be the hormones that are driving me nuts to have such confused thoughts...or the hunger pangs that is making me writing nonsense...haha..

Reminder to self => Relax and be a happy mummy to be now!

Motto to self => Eat, sit...Eat Sleep!

My MIL gave me half of the fish during dinner last night juz cos I commented that the fish was delicious...

My boss bought me soybean milk this morning...cos she said it's good for the bb..

Awwww.....

Food Thief

And so the mystery was solved and we know who has been eating up all the food in the company fridge all this while.

Not that I'm getting all petty over this whole small matter, but I just can't comprehend that why a human being can be so ignorant to think that she can consume EVERYTHING and ANYTHING from the company fridge!

I'm super pissed lor. I mean when my strawberry Meiji yogurt went missing for the first time, I juz took it that the pantry auntie could have mistakenly thrown it away cos' it might have expired. Then a couple of days later, my Fuji Apple was lost too. Nevermind, I thought my apple could have rotted cos I left it in the fridge for 2 days, so some good soul might have thrown it away. Then for the third time, which was on Tue, I happily placed another Meiji yogurt in the fridge in the morning and wanted to snack it at 4pm, it was GONE! GONE AGAIN!

I was boiling hot. I couldn't take it anymore. So happened the HR Manager was also in the pantry, I complaint to him about my stolen food and told him I can't tolerate it anymore. It's completely fine for the first two times, but she has to take my yogurt for the third time again?!?! What? She thinks the company so damn bloody good and takes great care of her welfare that they will buy and place a single cup of different flavour Meiji brand yogurt in the fridge for her? It's so DUH lor. She moron or what?

The rest of staff also had their fair share of losing their food in the fridge so after much investigation, they realised that the thief is none other than the new staff from the production dept. Apparently the HR Manager stepped in and told her off, but she gave the lame excuse that she's new and is not aware of such company policy! Oh, WTF, if I put birdnest inside, does it mean she will eat it and thinks that it's from the company??

Fwah...I sibeh HOT leh.

Anyway, I have juz placed another cup of yogurt this morning inside the fridge fully labelled with my name on it. If she's still taking it, I really give up and juz hope that she has a good time laxing it in the toilet for the entire day.

I know I'm mean...but hey, she's stealing what my bb wants to eat ok? How dare her!

Manila No No...

Bah! I want to go Manila in June for the company's Conference, but I'm not allowed!

I hate Hubby Goh.
I hate MIL.
I hate my mummy.

They all gang up and don't let me go just becos' I'm preggie with their 1st kid/grand kid!!

Gynae already said it's relatively safe to fly during that time, but....yet they still disallow me to go!

It's so bored getting grounded. Sob.

2nd Gynae Appointment

Was on leave yesterday as the 2nd gynae appointment was dued.

It was good to see the fatherly Dr Chan again. According to the fertility calendar, I should be at my 8weeks 2nd day yday, but the scan and measurement of the bb recorded otherwise and I should be at 8 weeks and 5th day instead.

Dr Chan decided that we should stick back to the original edd (26 Nov) cos' it could be that the bb is a tad too long as both Hubby Goh and I are both tall. Bb was measured at 2.1cm as of yday and yeh, we could see the bb's legs and developing fingers from the scan! The little darling was doing a little tango on the legs as we see it twitched from the left to the right, as if doing a little welcome dance for us....awwww.......so cute! And you guess what? Dr Chan spotted a "third leg" in between the little fellow's legs and he said it MIGHT be a boy. But it's still too early to tell la, might be the umbilical cord, who knows...

It should be a gal....I have this strong gut feel...it WILL be a gal...yes it WILL... *cross fingers and toes*

The only bad news is I was diagnosed with low placenta now. That probably caused the bleeding 2 weeks ago and Dr Chan said that there might be a possibility that I might bleed again, so he prescribed me with Duphaston juz in case. However, not to worry, usually 98% of the ladies will see their placenta move up once the uterus has expanded enough to accommodate the actual space for the placenta, but still, there's a likelihood that 2% will remain having a low placenta till birth and gotta opt for C-section for delivery instead.

I'm hoping for the best now...no bleeding no c-section pls...

Note: Weight gain - 0.7kg since 2 wks ago!

New Toy!

The old phone has been giving me problems lately:

1. Reception is lost whenever I stepped out of the lift and needs to be rebooted everytime. Nokia did a software upgrade sometimes last year, but still can't solve the stupid problem.

2. The data cable is spoilt. Not able to download the nice pics I've taken with the phone cam (gah!)

3. The batt runs out within a night, often finds the phone dead in the morning.

And so yesterday, I decided to trade in the lousy phone for a Nokia 6300!

It sounds like a DOWNGRADE, cos' 6300 is a non 3G phone. But, whatever lah, I didn't really use the 3G function in the old phone anyway. I just need a PROPER functioning phone that doesn't give me problems at all. Plus this new phone is really slim! I can just slide it in my pocket without feeling the bulge!

So yeah, I'm happy now! :)

It's Weekend Again!

Sorry for the lack of posts. Been busy preparing my slides for last Thu and Fri's Quarterly Review Meeting. Such a relief that it's finally over. Don't have to toll over the weekends cracking my brain on the slides :)

Met up with the usual gang for dinner on Friday. Wanted to try out the western food stall at Toa Payoh which they highly recommended (cos' they went without us!! urgh!), but alas, it was closed and we changed venue to Ivins at Upper Thomson. Never a real fan of Peranakan food all the while but never really hate it either. Somehow that night, all the dishes they ordered did not impress me. The smell of the curry chicken irked me, the sight of the beed redang puts me off, and the chap chye tasted horrid. I only ate half portion of the rice and drank a glass of orange juice. Surprisingly, the only thing I enjoyed was the freshy squeezed orange juice..haha. We wanted banana split for dessert but they ran out of bananas. Duh. What else do they actually have? We wanted the sambal kangkong, the waiter said they ran out of kangkong. We wanted the fish head curry, he said no more fish head. We wanted the ladies fingers, he said not available. Fwah...I nearly blew my top...

Anyway, after the dinner, we proceeded to have yummy desserts at Tong Shui down the road. I enjoyed my pomelo mango ice mountain (sweet and sour!!) and that's when Hubby Goh broke the news and announced to them that I'm preggie.

So funny, Hubby Goh was actually half giggling and half munching his peanut butter toast when he made the announcement. The gang gave confused looks and accused him of trying to be funny and lying cos' we actually told them to go ahead with the Taiwan trip without us this Nov. It took me about 5 mins to convince them and congratulate us...haha...see la, that's the result of being not serious all the time...hiaks!

There were plans to book a hotel room in June at Sentosa for Jeff & Serene's wedding...so exciting...I want to go! I want to go!

Ugly Pregnancy Bras

Wearing my one and only pc of pregnancy bra today. The usual underwired ones are starting to get a little uncomfy and tight so I'm trying out the pregnancy bra and so far I have no complaints except that it looks f-ugly.

Not sure where else sell pregnancy bras, but I bought mine at Mothercare. Believe or not, the pregnancy bras only come in either WHITE or BLACK. It's plain looking, dun have fancy laces or prints, juz PLAIN white or black. How boring.

On the hindside, it's super cottony soft that you don't feel like you're wearing anything..haha. But one thing to caution is the material is so soft and thin that when you're wearing a tight top, your erected nipples can be seen, you know, juz like the car's headlights, high beaming at you anytime of the day. Urgh, how canz?

So the smart ass me came up with this brilliant idea of putting a pc of cotton pad on each side of the cup to hide away the nipples. So far so good, the cotton pad is still well intact in the cup...haha..

Need to get at least 2 more to rotate use....but I dun want those from Mothercare!! yucks yucks!

Shopping !!!

Alas! I "prison-broke" yday after the heavy downpour and headed to Orchard alone to do some shopping.

It's been a while since I roamed myself in the shopping malls and buying things, ended up with a super big hole in the pocket. If Hubby Goh didn't come and save me in time, I'm sure the damage will be even worst!

Things I bought:
1. Pregnancy Journal from Kinokuniya
2. Eye serum and cream from H2O
3. 2 babydoll Tops from Topshop that can last thru my pregnancy..I hope! (lucky they were having a 30% discount for UOB credit card holders!!)
4. Toiletries
3. Andrea Bocelli CD (Finally I bought it!!)

Dinner was at our favourite hunt - California Pizza Kitchen. We gobbled down a soup, an appetiser, a pizza and fetuccinie in Garlic Cream Sauce. We are such gluttons! But it was satisfying. At least I didn't wake up in the middle feeling hungry again.

Gah. The long weekends have ended, dreads the Monday.

Easter Sunday

Hunger pang started to strike as early as 9.30 in the morning. Couldn't sleep anymore cos' the hunger was really unbearable.

As soon as I got out of bed, Hubby was at the door greeting me with yummilicious Mac BIG BREAKFAST!! Hurray! My saviour is back!

Big Breakfast has never tasted so good before...I love Hubby Goh to the bits!

Sat: At Home :(

Having rested for the entire day at home on Thu, boy! I was so glad that I had the chance to breathe fresh air yday.

It was Nie Nie's bday yday so the whole gin gang of us brought her to Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant for a decent dimsum lunch. Traffic was horrid on Easter Day as many took this opportunity to throng Vivo City and Sentosa for the holiday. We were caught quite in a while in the jam and the frequent jerking of the car made me both nauseaous and queasy that I didn't really enjoyed my favourite har kows and siew mais after that.

We didn't really intend to official announce the good news to everyone. But I guess the MIL was too happy and couldn't sustain the news to herself, she broke the news at the "mgt table" (the snr relatives) and one by one, they strolled over to my table and congratulated both me and hubby goh. In fact, they childed us for being overly superstitious and we shouldn't follow the old wife's myths in this modern day. Keke...what to do, when comes to these kinda things, it's better to be safe then sorry right?

Anyway, Ting gave me a tight hug after learning the news. She's the only one in the family whom I've confided, she knows that I was quite depressed with the number of failed cycles of trying, so her comforting hug touched my heart that I nearly weeped. Must be the changing hormones lah, making me bersek and emo...haha..

After lunchie, everyone headed to Vivo for shopping but I made Hubby Goh drive me to the supermarket to stock up on more milk and cereals. Do not underestimate the hunger pangs at night, when they strike, I must EAT, else it's so awfully painful that I can cry for help.

At night, dinner was at Lau Pat Sat cos' Hubby Goh had to return office to do some preparation works for today's project. It was pure heaven when I get to order my all-time favourite satay from my favourite Stall No. 9. They have the best gravy and ketupat. The meat they used for their satays are chunky meat and not minced meat which I hated.

Sigh. I'm on my own today cos' Hubby Goh is busy with work and will not be back home till tmr morning. I missed him already. Speaking of which, he juz called, yeh!

And duh!! It's raining!! Like that how to go out?? [errmmm..Hubby Goh called to give instructions that I am to stay at home and not wander around outside cos' it's rainning...urrghh!)

*ROAAAARRRRRRRRRRR*

Relieved !!!

Had the most horrifying experience yesterday that I'm still recovering from shock now.

So happened that the night before I was happily watching TV on bed while the hubby was out attending a wake. It was about 11pm when I noticed some wetness on the panty, so I hopped over to the toilet and was shocked to find fresh blood stains! Trembling, I changed into fresh undie and checked the pregnancy book I bought a couple of days ago from Kinokuniya. It sounded kinda assuring when it says that bleeding during early pregnancy does not necessary led to miscarriage, but getting a check with the gynae is still always good. So I closed the book, chanted in my heart, hoping that all is well and tried to sleep.

The whole night, I kept tossing and turning in bed and making frequent trips to the toilet to monitor the condition. The bleeding somewhat stopped, but there are still some brown discharge presence and I'm not quite convinced that it's gonna be alright.

So in the morning, after showering and stepping out from the cubicle, I can't help but noticed a small pc of blood clot like thingy on the floor. Panicked, I took a closer look and sprayed it away down the drain and ran out of the toilet hysterically, telling the hubby what I've saw.

It's something not good, I keep telling myself when I was on the way to the office. So when I got into the office, I quickly snapped on my lappie and started searching the net on pregnancy bleeding and symptoms of miscarriage.

Horrors of horrors, I found 2 symptoms of miscarriages similar to my condition:
1. Bleeding
2. Blood clots

Without hesitation, I picked up my mobile and started to call Dr Chan.

"He is away for a Conference and will only be back this Saturday", the nurse spoke on the phone.

Duh. How can I wait for him till Saturday?
So I told the nurse my condition and she quickly arranged for me to see any gynae covering Dr Chan, but I have to like zoom over there this very second.

The waiat at Dr Chin's clinic was like eternity. Her clinic was packed to the brim on a Wednesday morning and her appts were arranged all back to back. After the 2.5hrs long wait at the sofa, the nurse finally called my name and my heart pounded super fast when I inched my way to the consulation room.

I told Dr Chin what happened and my concerns, so she ordered me for an ultrasound scan to check on the bb. Immediately when she inserted the "stick" into the vaginal, she broked the good news that my bb is safe and sound and what do you know, I saw the little junior's heartbeat blinking on the LCD TV!! Then Dr Chin turn on the sound waves loud and let me listen to little junior's heartbeat! Sounded like horses gallopping in the field..so fast yet so rhythmatic.

Awww......I nearly burst into tears this instance. It's such a relieve that my bb is fine and holding on strong inside me. I thank Daimoku for ensuring the safety of the little one and chant further that after this incident, the rest of the pregnancy will be smooth and good till delivery.

So after a jab on the butt (damn pain can?), some medicine and a 2-day MC, I was ordered by Dr Chin to head home to rest and REST...

BB goh, pls, next time dun play such a plank on mommy again ok? mommy cannot take such jokes, you be good and grow well inside mommy yah? muackz muackz.

Everywhere Expanding...Sigh..

Besides the bust, the waistline is also expanding.

Dr Chan said at the last visit that I'm only supposed to put on ONE kg from now till the 4th month. But but...how not to put on when the hunger pangs keep striking non stop? Now, the expansion is not due to the growing feteus (cos' it's only 2cm the most now!) but all the collected fats from the food I ate. Haha. I don't have special cravings, but if I want to eat something at that moment, I have to eat it, else I feel deprived. Sigh. I'm turning to a hippo soon. Someone pls help.

Finally went to get a pregnancy bra last evening at Mothercare. Gawd, they look so ugly! Only comes in boring BLACK or WHITE, so I bought the black cos' the latter looks so old school. It's super soft and comfy but blardy expensive, $42 for the stupid bra that has no underwire, no cushions, no lace, no nothing. I will need to get more when the boobs start to outgrow the old bras. Shiong ah. Anyone wants to sponsor? Haha..

Woke up at 5am this morning to pee and couldn't really drift back to sleep. So disturbing. Already trying not to drink too much water 3 hrs prior to sleep but it's still not working. This is only the start of all nightmares I was cautioned...more to come lor. I certainly dun anticipate it. Just chanting every day that it will be a smooth sailing journey for me and the little one will be safe and sound with me.

Short Working Week

Weee! This week's a short working week cos' it's Good Friday!
But Hubby Goh has a project cut-over for the long weekend and I'm left on my own again *sob*
Anyone wants to date me out?!?!

Most likely will do some light shopping, I need some pregnancy bras badly cos' the boobs are getting bigger and outgrowing the current bras. Dreads. I hate big boobs.

Last night's mee sua dinner was saintly good. It was darn packed that place, but good thing the table I was eyeing on emptied after a 5mins wait. We ordered soup, prawns, steamed fish, claypot sesame chicken, chillied tapioca leaves, lucky they missed our order of claypot pig's organs, else I dunno how we can survive after the feast. It was indeed a very satisfying dinner last night :)

Many a times we almost wanted to break the good news to the bunch of kakis, but we held our horses cos' we wanted to be assured of it first before spreading it. Due to go the gynae again next Tue, am so looking forward to it, can't wait!

It's after lunch and I'm feeling sleepy now. Urgghh....no napping in the office...how to survive till 6 you tell me?

Like A Princess

Brother KL was on msn and he asked if I was hungry and wanted Botak Jones, he can deliver to my door step.

How sweeeeet!

But I'm not hungry, YET.

We are going out dinner with the usual gang. They wanna try this place selling ter kua mee sua in the East. Not something I like, never been a fan of ter kua (pig's liver), and I read from books that I shld abstain from taking it now cos' there're some possible bacteria if not cooked right.

I will have to order a ter kua mee sua without the ter kua later.

Haha.

Happy April Fool's!

I don't like Sunday to be rainy.

Kinda dampen my weekend mood though the weather is good to sleep in.

Didn't really do much yday. It was the usual housework when mum came over at noon and delivered some yummy lunch for me. I *heart* my mummy! She cooked my favourite fried bee hoon and curry chicken though I had totally no cravings for them yet. It's so funny to see that my over-concerned mummy was sitting beside me at the dinning table, rationing my portion for the chicken curry. She claimed that I can only eat a little, so I'm supposed to be good and just eat errr..."a little"..

Hubby Goh came back from work in time to finish up the rest of the food and sent the mummy home. By then when he was half way mopping the floor, I was a little drowsy and I plonked myself onto the bed, read only 2 pages of a book and quickly dozed off like a baby. It's amazing, I never had to nap on a weekend, but this time, I slept for almost an hour before I woke up to get ready for my facial.

Halfway done the facial, the tummy was calling out for food...the hunger pang got so bad that we had to go Mac to grab a large fries to curb the hunger first. There were still some leftover food at home, so I heated it up and ate it with Hubby Goh before he suggested adjourning to West Coast Park for a walk.

See lah, last time ask him go for a walk is like asking for his life, now he actually suggested walking in the Park? Men...

Dunno was it becos we walked too much, the abs got a little crampy in the middle of the night though it was bearable.

*Yawn* I think I need another afternoon nap...I think I'm a pig. Oink Oink.
