The Warrior is Down

After abt a week's of self-medication, I is finally down.

Sigh. And I thought popping Panadols and Fedec help. Broody hell. Apparently the virus is still doing tricks to my system and the relapse yday eventually sent me to the doc. Am now on antibiotics, yucks, I hate taking antibiotics, they make my pee smell really bad!

Hate the rainy weather. Thought I can do my laundry today so that I don't have to do it over the weekend. Sigh. So here I am in front of the PC, blogging and doing my claim report for the trip.

Jay Chou's new album's not bad. Found the CD on the study desk and decided to play and check out his new songs.

Grrrr......feeling gorgy after taking the medicine. Think I wanna crash soon.

I is a PIG.

Haha..

Having MC is such a bliss...

I like..

Nua-ing at home..

Envious? Come, I pass my germs to you la...keke..

Back to Work....arrgghh...

Still quite half drained from all the jet lag and fatigue last week. The moment I opened my eyes this morning, the thought of faking MC came pounding in my mind. But heck it man, there are tonnes of work pending for me in the office, if I report sick today, my boss's gonna kill me.

So here, I'm back in the office today.

Sian.

Wanna sleep.

If you give me another day to nua at home, I think I will not make it back to office anymore. Haha...I'm a nua-queen. Was supposed to send my phone to Nokia service center yesterday, but I had to laze at home doing nothing. Was suppposed to bring my shoes to repair the heels, I chose to listen to Gilberto and fell asleep on the bed. Was supposed to go to the library to loan some books to read, I went to Raffles City to do some quick shopping before meeting my ex-poly mates for dinner at the basement. Haha...can't believe it, I'm such a horrid procrastinator.

So anyway, I was real glad to meet up with my good ol' ex classmates. I was in India when Vin msged me out of the blue to ask how I was. Apparently he attended some survival training in Brunei the week before which set him thinking of us and initiated this dinner. Words can't explain how happy I was to see them again...the last time I met them was at my wedding 2 years ago?

It was a fun and casual dinner last night. PE is now 6 mths preggie, having another boy. I was touching her tummy the whole night and talking to her bb, hoping that she can pass me some baby dust so that I can join her MTB club soon. AT is still the blur sotong queen as ever. Vin has the habit of shooting sarcasms at her, but being the mild mannered gal all along, AT joyfully played along with him, filling us with much laughter during the entire dinner. We should catch up more often you know? If only SC is available to join us too, the dinner will be even more eventful.

Sigh. Back to work again...having 2 back to back meetings later.

Lazy Monday

*Yawn*
Am still recovering from the fatigue over the India trip last week. The smart ass me took the day off today to rest and nurse my flu. Sigh. How I wish I don't need to go back to work this week!

Anyway, I touched down last Friday evening. Was so uber happy that I'm finally back! Was down with a viral infection last Wednesday in Pune. Dunno whether it was the weather, the water or the food, I was suddenly attacked by a strong virus that gave me whole body ache, fever and sore throat within a night. Had no one to go to, so the only remedy was to pop panadols every 4 hours and gulp down bottles and bottles of mineral water. Fortunately with all the chantings and being always mentally strong, I was able to overcome the virus and successfully completed the 3rd show in Ahmedabad.
Didn't take alot of pics this trip cos' it was all too rush rush and I wasn't really in the mood and state to take nice photos.
This is the hotel in Pune (pronounced as 'Poo-Nah"). I like the service here best. Wherever you go, the service staff will greet you "How are you, Mdm?", and during the event set-up, they will goo "Yes Mdm", "No prob, Mdm" all the way. They are so eager to service you that you felt so awkward. And this is the only hotel that I don't have to lay my hands to pack the 150 goodie bags. The banquet captain told me to do a sample and he got 4 of his waiters to pack the rest. Thumbs up!

Fwah! Got DVD player somemore! Impressed!

You know what I hate about India? They have lousy airport system and their lugguage pick up conveyor belts were stenched with layers of dirt and mud, my luggages were mishandled and ended up with patches of dirt everywhere. Below is my new Nike bag I bought last year, had to bring it along to fit all the trophies. Check out how dirty it became...shake head neh.

This is the hotel in Ahmedabad. The worst Hotel we stayed so far in India. The door lock was faulty and everytime I accessed the door, I had to summoned either my colleague or the housekeeper to open/close the door for me. What a dread! And the wall partitions were superbly thin! My colleague from next door could hear me eating my vegetarian pizza in the room! And the next morning, I was awakened by his alarm clock rather than mine! Duh. What's gonna happen to couples bonking in the room? The poor horny bastard would have to scratch the wall the entire night I reckon...haha!

And the room had only very basic amenities like thin soft toilet papers like this. Those we have in S'pore is twice the thickness of this? They don't have hair-dryer in the room as well. I was frantically calling the room service line at 12am but all the lines were engaged although it was written in the catalogue that they are 24 hour. We only realised the next morning that their server was down, so all the telephone lines were disconnected. Haha...guess it was just my luck! I had to board the 7am flight with my wet hair!

So to date, I have already visited 6 cities in India. Heard news that the next roadshow will be scheduled in November. Another nightmare to come soon...anybody wanna come with me? Hahaha...

Chicken Briyani in Hyderabad!

Yums, juz had super yummy Chicken Briyani juz now at one of the so-called famous Briyani restaurant in Hyderabad. But good things all come with a price, ermm..I don't mean that the Briyani was expensive, fyi, it cost only a freaking S$38 for the lunch juz now, all 7 of us! Cheap hor? But the ride to the restaurant was horrifying lor. We took the cheapest transport, they called it also the Tuk-Tuk, but this stupid vehicle is super bumpy and coupled with the deafening honking and reckless driving of all the ah nehs, I nearly screamed my lungs out and puked out my intestines. Yes, it was damn bad. The traffic over at Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi were not as bad as over here!

It's 2 hrs before my event starts. Gotta wash up now, get dressed and prepare for the ra-ra show tonight!

Tata folks!

Arrived Hyderabad in One Piece

Namaste! Greetings from Hyderabad.

Couldn't sleep a wink last night, was practically closing and resting the eyes the entire night. It's always the norm on the first night when I'm overseas, dunno why.

Anyway, the hotel kinda sucks here. It's under some renovation currently and I have these 2 indian guys scrapping some old paint from the wall outside my room as early as 8am in the morning! WTF!! So inconsiderate!

And you know my Indian colleague who attempted to put me down the other day? Yeh, I met him last night when we checked in to the Hotel and well, he was kinda embarrassed when he saw me. Haha. In the email act like some power asshole, but when we meet face to face, he was timid like a mouse. Pui Pui Pui!

Duh. Now the reno workers are knocking some stuff outside my room, waaahh...noise pollution man, I WANA COMPRAIN!!

Jetset to India Again....

Will be leaving for India this evening for another 3-City Road Show this quarter. This time it will be Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad. Where the hell is Ahmedabad you ask me, frankly, I also dunno, just know that it's a 1.5hrs ride from Pune, some ulu samy city lah I suppose, and a city where alcohol is prohibited by the state. How cool is that? So I presume I'm gonna meet all sober and more humanly ah nehs there? *LOL*

Well, have not been able to download any pics from the mobile phone since the weekend. Once I connect the USB to the laptop or PC, it started to reboot the entire system. So I reckon something might have gone wrong with either the phone or the cable. Bah. I only bought the phone for a freaking 3 months leh. Ta ma de.

Anyway, yah, we did gone to the Class 95 Movies at the Padang on Saturday. Like what we have expected, the hubby and I were the early birds among the rest of the couples. If I didn't remember wrongly, we reached like at about 5.40pm? Nevermind about that, we chopped a nice and cosy spot and made ourselves comfy first. The smell of the roast chickens we bought from Cold Storage was so tempting that we helped ourselves with the corn dogs first. Haha. Who cares, latecomers will have to go settle their dinner themselves. Chey.

At abt an hour later, we see couple no 1 arrived. Since they bought yummy kong bah paos and assorted Sweet Secret buns, we forgave them for their lateness. 2nd couple? Haha..that uncle Renne sms the hubby that he will be contributing "JAP FOOD" for the outing. We were wooing and drooling about the "JAP FOOD" that he's gonna bring (think sushi, yakitori, etc), but turns out that he bought the Jap goodies he has brought along from his recent Tokyo trip. fwah! can die! We nearly died of uber disappointment, I tell you!

And then came 7.30pm, the celebrity couple finally arrives. By then it was pitch dark and the movies are starting to roll, so we quickly organise ourselves and get ready for Mission Impossible 3 to be screened.

It's sort of disappointing actually. No doubt all of them turned up for the outing, but one by one during the show, they excused themselves to the loo and never quite make it back to the poncho after that. At the end of the show, it was only me and the hubby, plus all the garbage from the food we ate earlier. And guess what? Instead of catching the show with us, the gals actually adjourned for coffee at a nearby cafe while the guys chilled out at the sides of the padang talking cock and smoking ciggies. I was a little pissed and by then no mood to catch X Men. It was so obvious that they were not keen to watch the movies at all, so we decided to go check out Serene and Jeff's new place at Depot instead. Sigh. It was a mistake jio-ing them for the show..the hubby and I could have stayed on to catch the 2nd show if not for them. Broody hewl.

And guess what? After whacking all the leftover junks for the movie outings at Serene's place, someone suggested playing cards to pass time. What? I nearly freaked out! Dun want to watch movies but play cards at people's place instead? So ridiculous! They went on to play till 1am when the gals started to yawn and make sleepy face at the guys. Me? I can't wait to get home. When I come back from India, I will go loan the X Men DVD and make sure that I catch it at home with the hubby. No more movies at the park for us liao. Hmph!

Don't Ask Me to Take it Easy Lah

Was juz mild chatting with Serene over msn earlier and boy it really got on my nerves talking to her. She being an AQUARIUS, always optimistic and easy-going. Me a VIRGO, I'm always striving for near perfections, like things to be planned and take things seriously.

Alright, she was checking if the plans for tmr's free movie @ the Padang is on. One couple is off, cos' they had a tiff, the other couple said they are on but don't wish to go that early. Serene of cos' is super keen but could only join us at 7pm as they had prior appts to attend to. So well, means left me and the Hubby, who are the most easy going ones, sitting on the fence.

Ok, it all started when she said it doesn't matter, if Renne couple not joining, there are still 6 of us. And if Chee couple don't want to go so early, we can go later.

But hell, even if you are in the wrong mind, you would have known that the movie event, which Class 95 is targeting to attract at least 8000 pax at the Padang, will be god damned pack by 6pm, an hour before it commences. So if our intention is to catch the 2 movies, shouldn't we make some effort to go chop a good place so that we can all enjoy the movies and not end up in the situation where we arrive late, we can't find a good spot, worst, no space...whatever. So she was trying to pacify me to "TAKE IT EASY", but I was like...Miss ah, I'm already taking it very easy..if you people dun give a damn, I also can't care a damn. If this kinda attitude, I rather not watch the movies cos':

1. I know I definitely can't get a good spot by the time we arrive
2. Since no good spot, watch already also no shiok
3. Since no good spot, no mood, then what for stay there?
4. Waste time, waste effort
5. End up everyone will stand around and ask "How How How?"
6. Eventually the guys will suggest playng mahjong and then drive their respective partners home
7. OR, if no mahjong, then all balek kampung and find zhou gong.

So like that how to "Take it easy"?

And after explaining all my thoughts to her, she again asked me to "Take it easy"! You know, I could have sent some punches to her face in her Bukit Merah flat. And she had to antagonise me further by adding that "This is juz entertainment lah, juz take it easy lor"!

Oh my freaking gosh, didn't she get me at all just now? So in conclusion, I told her I dunno what's the decision lah, just leave it to the guys lor, and she went offline to bomb the house toilet.

Duh.

See how then. Might as well just go for a romantic dinner with the hubby better.

The Marketing Vs Sales Feud

Wherever you go, any company, the sales dept usually don't see eye to eye with the marketing dept. And this is so in the company I'm with currently. It sounds like a cliche, but it's a true fact that marketing serves only as a supporting role to the sales, they are always in the background giving all sorts of support to the sales who in turn are fighting wars in the forefront.

It's such a sad phenomenon. Marketing vs Sales. Sales is seemed deem as "kings" of the company who go all the way out to cut sales and generate profits for the company. For Marketing, it is always seen as a non-profits generating center, or rather, so to speak, a cost center to the company. I think such culture in the company should be revised. To me, I think it's a chicken-and-egg situation. Marketing and Sales can't do without each other, they should work hand in hand so as to better achieve company goals and objectives. But sadly, the situation is when something's cropped up, it's always the Marketing fault and never the Sales. Just why? Cos' sales is already doing their best to bring in sales for the company!! So Marketing should shoulder all the blame and crap if sales dun bring in enough profits for the company! Don't you think it's ridiculous?

And what? Just because they are Sales, they can exploit us Marketers? They can be tactless, rude, disrespect, unobjective, unreasonable, irresponsible...but we? We have to bring down our pride to accept that everything is our fault, be extra tactful with them, give them umpteen respect and put up with their nonsense? Sigh..this is so pathetic lor.

When I was back with TP couple of years back, the Marcom team supporting the Product Marketing team, we reigned like queens and princess. When these Product Marketers want something to be done, be it launches, roadshows, flyers, etc, they were fearful of us and oblige if we tell them that we are overloaded and they have to outsource their project. There were absolutely no qualms that we called the shots and I really enjoyed the golden times of not being bullied or have to put up with unreasonable behaviour from the PMs.

Well, if only my present boss could salvage the situation by not acknowledging the passe thinking of marketing should be at sales' "beck and call attitude", else I can forsee that such attitude from the sales team will prolong and would get worse in the long run. They are PAMPERED, they are OBNOXIOUS, they should one fine day sit in our position and understand what shite we are going through.

Arrgghh...the thought of it makes my blood boils only.

It's TGIF today! So I'm not gonna dwell on these unhappiness, I'm gona have a good Friday and look forward to the India trip on Mon. Sigh, damn sian...country of barbarians...*pui*

Shopping Makes Me Happy!

Eversince Hubby Goh started work at the Atrium a week ago, I have been dropping by Plaza Singapore regularly. Think yesterday was my no. 5th visit there?

Anyway, I have rediscovered Plaza Singapore like I've never done before. Ermm..I mean only the basement levels only, didn't have time to explore the other levels yet. Charles & Keith having pathetic sales now, I was browsing around and spotted this pretty black strappy shoes. No no..it was not on sale, but tagged at $33, I thought it's quite reasonable bah. So far, I don't have problems with C&K shoes, they don't fail me like those I bought at Far East. I was happy...but after I went home and modelled in front of my "runway mirror", realised that the heels are a little too high for my liking. Was grumbling a little but Hubby Goh kept assuring me that it's nice and the height was ok for me. Oh well, if he said ok, then it should be ok. Otherwise you will see him giving orh-bit faces.

Aye. Feeling tired today. Dunno why, recently I have been sleeping like a pig at night and have a hard time forcing myself out of the bed in the mornings! So wierd, I couldn't even hear the Hubby's alarm clock ringing when normally I was the one pushing and shoving him to wake him up. And now I feel that my temperature is rising slightly. Jiarat. I think I might be getting sick soon. Shitz. I cannot afford to be sick, I have a roadshow to run in India next week!

Urgghh...

After Thots

You know what? After what happened for the past few days, I'm starting to believe that twitchy eyes do mean something in the reality.

Not making this up, but my left eye started to twitch since Fri or Sat (can't really recall). According to the chinese, when the left eye twitches, it means good luck, but if the right eye twitches, that means you're expecting some mishaps soon. For me, it's just the opposite. Left eye twitch = smell trouble soon.

So there I was, getting involved in the 2 shitty issues for those couple of days. And finally the eye stopped twitching today, else I dunno what bad luck to expect more.

Anyway, I was confiding my probs with this colleague over dinner who happened to work as late as I did on that night. Suddenly I realise that I wasn't the only one having all the work frustrations, she was having her bad share of luck in work too. We both spoke about our bad experiences and frustration, and boy, it was a relieve to finally let off the steam we have accumulated all these while!!

I've never like to be involved in any work politics. For me, doing my job and fulfilling my duties is my top priority, remaining cordial relationships with colleagues is next, other than that, I dun give a damn. Work hard and work smart is always my motto to move to the next level. I've never been lucky in the jobs I'm in, unlike some other close galfrens who could move from high profile vendors to another high profile vendors within a short span of time. Even the one whom I used to mentor during my distributor days is now a Manager. Me? I'm still an Assistant Manager, having to suffer bully and insults by some barbarian Indian who thought that it's a big deal just being a Snr Sales Manager in the company. For all that you know, his salary could be the same as mine. So back off you piece of lard!

Alright, I shouldn't make comparisons, but don't you think the higher you go, the more respect you need to garner to secure your position? If only I was a Marketing Manager, you think that arsehole can be nasty to me like that? But then again, even if you are the Managing Director but behave like some dumb shit, respect from others is something you will never get, even in your next life! If you are a Snr Manager, pls behave as one and not abuse your authority or jump at trivial matters like demanding priviledges for a hotel SINGLE room during a sticky situation or pissing people by stressing to your colleagues that your job is to do sales and not following datelines set. That shows how unprofessional and stupid he is.

I can forgive him, but never forget. He has to account for what he has done, the damage is already done and the little respect that I had for him has been thrown down to the drain and washed out to the sea.

Oh yah, last evening took the north-east line to Dhoby Ghaut to meet Hubby Goh. These words caught my eyes and it has never leave my memory since:

SUCCESS IS NEVER FINAL
FAILURE IS NEVER FATAL

Agree?

Horrendous Weekend Ever

I know work is never smooth sailing but what had happened over the last wkend was certainly a challenge, at least for me.

First it was some screwed up shipment of demo units for the Indo event. The ASEAN sales manager called me up 5mins before the firework burst out to the sky last Fri at Marina Bay. He literally raised his voice at me over the phone and spurred sarcastic sentences juz becos one demo unit was out of stock in the office and my executive and his manager were not aware of the urgency and did not surface to either bosses. They did not know that according to this ASEAN sales manager, without this bloody demo unit at the event, it is deemed as a FLOP?! I'll say that is ridiculous, does he meant that without promoting this product at the exhibition, he will not be able to hit his monthly sales target? I guess that shows how well his sales strategy is. A good sales person is one who can sell his product without even having to demo the live product. Tell me about it..

Well, I guess I have done all I could to explore the options of alternatives. Even if he wanna jump at me or my boss on Thurday, I'm all ears to it. *fret*

And to think this is isn't enough, another issue has to crop up. This time, from the India region.

It all started with this bugger who mistook my good intentions as irritations. To set the record straight, I'm not obligated to book hotel rooms for the ah nehs for our event. If they require, they have to request. I'm not so free to always call them up like their PA and check if they need this or that. All are stated in the email. if they need, they have to let me know in advance, else they have to bear the consequences., simple as that. So after 2 rounds of emails, he finally told me that he wants a room in all cities, so judging from comments the Hotels told me, they are running kinda full, so I tried to propose if he can bunk with his guy if I managed only to get one room. There, he flared and started to call me irriating and bossy, said I was being disrespectful cos' afterall he is the Snr Sales Manager and all those crap, dun expect him to share room and deprive him of the priviledge of owning a single room to himself. I mean, god! I was shaking with anger when I read his complain email, cc-ed to the entire world. At that moment, I juz felt like flying over, wring his neck, give him an upper-cut and kick-arse his balls!

What wrongful accusations are that? Even if he has been squeezed up to his neck by his boss on sales target, there's no way he I should be his sandbag and an outlet to vent his freaking frustration! I have not been insulted by anyone like this, and who he thinks he is to call me names and pass judgements on me? If he at least has a brain in his arse, he shld know that his performance is rated by the response of the 3 events. He is at the loosing end, not me...so farking LOSER, get that in mind and stop shooting mindless emails like machine gun!! It only shows how immature you are and how ineffective your mgt skills are! You think you will get respect from you Indian team after this? Dream on!!

*blood still boiling*

Dream On

Ah haha..how coincidental! I juz dreamt of the guy, "G", the one I was involved in the third-part r/s mentioned in my previous post!

So sway...of all the persons, I have to dream of him.

It came out to be kinda funny. I dreamt I was married to the jerk jailbird (seems that the guys I have dated in the past were jerk material..), we weren't happy and I was going through a very rough patch with him. Then came "G", who swept my feet away and I remembered taking off my wedding ring and told him that I wanna divorce the jailbird. And that was it! The alarm clock rang and it was back to reality.

Now feeling a binge of guilt..why do I have to dream of him ("G") and him (jailbird)?

Urghh..

I so wanna crash now, dunno why have been feeling easily tired lately..must be the lack of carbo and exercise.

Being the Third-Party

I was reading one of the Blogs I frequent juz now and empathised how the gal felt when she discovered only yesterday that her boyfren of 2 months two-timed her. She was at the state of uber happiness when they were dating and she raved about how she felt so blissed and sweet after meeting this arsehole. Now, it's shattered dreams for her, and she's crying buckets now cos' she has never thought that she be involved in such shit with the guy she adored all these while.

I know how it was like to be two-timed. And just like her, I chose to lift my head high and told the jerk that I want out and gave my blessings to him and his gf. It was a rational decision but painful. As usual, he picked me up from my office and we headed for dinner, then he suggested going for a walk, around Labrador Park if I can recall, which was unusual. We walked around aimlessly and I was getting a little impatient, cos' my sixth sense was telling me that he has something to tell me that day. So we went back to the car and he started to mutter that his gf wants a patch up, she's threatening suicide and other scary stunts, he felt sorry for her, blah blah..she wants to move in with him..and those crap. I was keeping my cool all the while, there was no wailing nor hatred, I juz blamed myself for falling for him so deep within 2 months. He was the suave guy I always wanted, he has his own advertising company, successful and smart, and most importantly, he pampers me like his lill princess like nobody did. Everything seems juz so right at that point of time.

But..but reality hits hard, and I have to let go...

I wet my pillow every night, went drinking with friends to numb my emo, did everything I could to forget about him. Even when he attempted to look me up in the office, I avoided him. I refused to take his calls or reply his smses, I have totally sought to cut off all contacts with him simply becos' I didn't want to be a third party. That way, I can only ensure myself that I won't fall back to him if he comes crumbling to my world again. I guess I wanted someone who has a clear mind on what and who he wants in his life, and not a confused guy who is ensure of the path he wants to choose.

Whatever it is, am glad that I made that right decision, and that I'm happily married to a man of my dreams. Though he doesn't have a business for me to be called tow-kay-neo or tai tai, he's also quite a successful engineer to date. What I love about him is his mild temper and sense of humour. He doesn't make me cry but makes a point to make me happy and laugh everyday. I is so glad to have met him...*j-smile*

And for that blogger gal with a broken heart now, dun be sad for too long...life's gotta go on..give other men a chance? I'm sure a gal like you deserves better than being a third party in the dark!

Cheers!

Weekend Rants and Shite

*Burp* Lunch was satisfying.

Cooked Korean style seafood udon soup and the hubby's all-time favourite teriyaki wings. I was cooking halfway, putting the udon to boil when I heard a loud car crash outside the road. All the neighbours were practically peering through their kitchen windows to check what was going on but all we could see were people running towards the bus stop direction. Wanted to go down and kaypoh, but I didn't want to burn my wings and overcook the udon. The hubby came back from his haircut and told me that a yellow Hyundai Getz crashed into the big drain near the bus stop. There was a huge commotion downstairs with loads of passer-bys, police and ambulance. Gawd! I am chanting so hard in my heart hoping that no one is hurt in the accident. Why so careless ah?! Sigh...

Anyway, last night was declared as the "Superband Night". Serene flew my kite about the talk she was raving to go so I invited SY over for a simple dinner fare so that we can catch Superband together. We the two lonely souls - her beau was outstationed to ME while mine was at the NDP rehearsal. We were both rooting for Milo Beng to win and without much qualms, they emerged as the winner..well, as long as the gottic-looking Lucify didn't win will do, I think their music pretty much sucks and doesn't cater to the general audience, in fact, it was very niche, either you hate it, or love. For us, we simply can't appreciate, so too bad, you dun get our "mental" votes. Hahaha...

On a different note, thanks SY for the Papa Beard stuff you bought last night! The eclair was so so so fantastically good, not too sweet, and the cream was not thick too. Hubby Goh also gave thumbs up for the cream puff, that was the sua-ku kid's first time trying on that heavenly piece of puff. He especially loves it when he sinks his teeth onto the puff and the cream oozes out from the sides. Woo...! Buay tahan leh!

Think next time shld invite SY more often to the house, I will cook and she will buy me more yummies when she comes...Hur hur hur!

In Search For New Shoes

It was kinda sad to part with 2 of my favourite pairs of shoes last 2 weeks. One with torn straps and the other was badly scratched and broken heels. Basically I think I abused them, I wonder was it the way I walk that affects my pretty shoes? Hmmm...I must take note.

Anyway, have been hunting for new shoes since 2 weeks ago. C & K, VNC, Pazzioni, NoDa, Gripz, all these shoes boutiques, I have been them all. So desperate that yday I made a purpose trip to Far East to try my luck, but to no avail. I think I checked out at least 10 shops yday? So tiring, I tell you.

Sigh. Why is it now that I needed to buy shoes, I couldn't find any? And then when I dun have the moolahs to buy, they are everywhere tempting me? I is sad =(

WHERE HAVE ALL THE PRETTY SHOES GONE TO?

Post NDP Preview Pics - Part 2

These are the earlier shots we took. Thank god we left the house early, managed to get a carpark lot at Tanjong Rhu, near Cosy Bay. The lot alone cost us a freaking $5 ok? There sooo many cars wanting to park here cos' it's juz a stone's throw away from the stadium. Lucky for us, we were the last 5 cars to get in there!

The purple warriors reign!

This is my beloved warrior! Check out glimpse of our new car behind!

On our way to the stadium. This is the entrance to the grandstand, only for the VIPs *bleh* We have to walk all the way to the opposite to get into the west entrace.

We queueing up to get in to the action in the stadium. This yr's goodie bag was bery bery good ah! 36 items altogether..got disposal raincoat, cap that has LED lights, torch light from nokia, wet and dry tissues, yummy titbits, lozenges, flag, air clappers and many many more to name!! But I dunno what to do with the bag leh, they sew the ugly logos on the front flap, I then dowan to use it..yucky yuck! Anybody wants it?

Sea of red. Everyone came dressed up in red tees, including muar and muar's family! So patrotic eh?!

Motivaters dressed in yellow and white. They are such good sports who led us in the famous S'pore Wave and cheers.

The parachuters diving from the sky. This year there were more, some came down with red smoke oozing from their shoes. It's one of my dreams to skydive also, dunno when can realise it.

The NG family...they wore red tops and white bottoms, so united leh!I like it baby!

The mummy dearest and the mischievious niece.

*irritable*

Nevermind that she snapped at me at the meeting last week.

Nevermind that she started to slack and giving me craps at work.

Nevermind that she detoured when she knew that I'm going to the pantry too.

And nevermind that she refused to speak to me after what all had happened.

Soon all this will come to an end.

This Friday it will be.

Post NDP Preview Pics

Ah! Finally had some time to upload the pics as promised. But cos' I only have my mobile phone cable with me in the office now, so these are just what I've got...

These are the pics taken when the day starts to fall, after the parachuters stunts and gong fu kids' performance.

This is where I'm seated, opposite to the main Grandstand, right next to the choir kids. Could see Wei Lian (the blind superstar) from a distant when he was singing on the raised stage, quite cool. Not exactly a good seat cos' we couldn't figure most of the shapes which the performers had formed, we relied on the 3 mega screens behind us instead, but ended up with cramped shoulders and heads...

This is the item prior to the Hubby's. See the purple men with the red objects? Yea, they stormed out from both side entrances like warriors and stood by there for their turn. I and the niece were so excited to see them!! The niece keep asking me, "Where's yeezhang? Where's yeezhang?"....aiyo...there are 1200 purple men there, how would I know right?

And here they are, smacked right in the middle of the event ground. I think it was quite a touching sight to see 1200 faithful SOKA Association male members coming together to put up an item for the nation's birthday. They have afterall slogged and slaved for months, turning up on both Thurs and Sats faithfully for their practice sessions. It's the kind of spirit dedication which I admire cos' I know I will not be able to accomplish that knowing myself well enough.

Another pattern they formed...

And they changed the colour of the lights in the dark..mind you, their prop weighs 5kg each leh, which explains why they only recruited male members in the beginning..

Highlight of the parade!!! Fireworks!! Wah..i tell you, these fireworks juz burst and bloomed out of a sudden that can scare the hell out of people! Esp. when they were shot from the back of us, so most of the time they exploded into the air when we were not prepared.

More fireworks...

It was reported in the papers that they showed only one third of what they were supposed to display on the actual day event. So stingy eh? Want to show must as well show the full version right? So smelly...the organisers.

See, once the fireworks started, everyone jumped up from their seats to capture the spectacular moment.

And the finale...many juz grab their goodie bag and headed for the exit. So kia-su. At least give a little respect to the performers lah, right not? And with these people walking here and there, it was quite disturbing also. What is wrong with these people ah? *shake head*

The niece and yours truly. We were all sweaty and smelly after the parade ends, but well, we enjoyed this exhilirating experience at the parade! What do you know? It is the very last year that NDP parade is being held at this ancient national stadium. Hearsay that it's gonna be demolished to make way for a new sports hub that promises the latest sports facilities and what else but shopping outlets! Can't wait!!

All's over, we flew down to the event ground to look for the three Power Puff Boys...*lol*

And so if you didn't manage to catch the NDP preview last Sat, do stay tune next Wed, 9 Aug for the actual day parade. Give your support to the great performers, esp. the 1200 purple men! Kudos for their hard work and effort!
