Gossips, Bitchings...Live in Fhuc-Ket

Juz woke up from a 45mins nap, now waiting for the boss's hubby back from his 2hr massage before we head out to Patong for dinner. The afternoon recce trip was quite tiring, but somehow we were still able to squeeze a good one hr for shopping at one of their upper shopping malls near the Town. It was supposed to be juz checking out the venue, in case the tai tais our clients brought along to the Conference wanna do serious shopping in Phuket rather than buying beach wears and fake goods in Patong, the boss + hubby and the whiny missy went wild and shopped for their own instead. I wasn't keen with the shops there, they have Esprit, VNC, Bata, Bebe and etc, but prices were either too expensive or they don't have my size, so ended up chatting with our guide in one of the cafes instead. I is happy that I didn't spend a single cent in the shopping mall. haha, broke record again!

Anyway, back to the boss and the hubby. I'm juz puzzled why she brought him along to our official biz trip, in fact, she flew in with him one day earlier than us and have extended their stay till Monday night cos' the guide has helped them arranged for a diving trip in Phi Phi Island. I'm sure that is a complimentary perk from the guide as well. We not only get free stays in Novotel these few days, we also dun need to pay for our daily lunches. Ok lah, he's gonna get so much biz from us in June, these are juz mere small "investments" for him.

The boss's hubby was like her personal assistant for the trip. He helps her with the file and handbag and gives her the aiding hand up and down the combo van. Not too bad as a new husband, but overheard that this is his 2nd marriage, he ended in a bad note with the previous wife. Sigh. Well, with his glib tongue and fat bank cheque, the boss quickly became his new wifey. Not only he has promised to provide her for the rest of her life, he pays for all the stuff she fancies, he was also sweet as to go search the internet for the nicest maternity wear when she lamented shopping was too tiring now that she's preggy. Urggh...how envious, why my hubby Goh not like that ah? I also want to be a tai tai like her. Then again, I will never fall for a casanova like him, so what if he's a romance? so what if he's rich? At the end of the day, you juz want your man to be truthful and love you forever...rich or not doesn't matter...but of cos' rich will be a bonus lah...hiaks!

And so about the whiny colleague. In the first place, I dunno why she is needed here. We were supposed to bunk together during the trip, but after we checked in to the room on the first day, she requested my boss for her own room instead. Haha..I was so happy about it, at least I don't have to face her whines and complaints sharing the same room for the 3 days. Try surviving with someone who complains about the hot scorching sun in the day, groans about mosquito bites but chose to wear revealing spaghetti strapped dresses every day, whines about being car sick for only a short 30mins journey, pulls a black face during dinner, slipped out alone to the Patong Beach 10 mins before dinner and expects us to catch her on the street...the list is non-exhaustive. Like what Lionel says, she is the most difficult woman we have met so far. How could any man tolerate her I wonder? Scratch head. Shake head.

Sigh. Juz got bad news that the agent couldn't get us any earlier flights back to S'pore tmr. So probably I will do some light shopping after breakfast tmr and then come back to the room and nua till check out time. If only I have brought my bikini along, then can do some tanning before I go...aye aye..fair legs really suck, I wanna get rid of them!

Phuket Escapade...I Wish!

Sawadee-Khrap! A cup, B cup, C Cup....D Cup..

Haha...

I is in Phuket now, not for leisure, but to do a recce on hotels and adventure activities for the upcoming Disty Conf in June.

Weather is terribly hot here, how I wish I could parade around with juz bikini top and shorts everyday like the folks do! It's my 3rd trip to Fffffuuuc-Kkket, the last trip was like about 10 years ago? Things have changed tremendously here, there used to be only some discos and ago-go bars along the patong beach, and a Mac restaurant plus a post office (I still remembered going to the post office to make calls back to my 1st boyfriend!!), but now, it has commercialised so much, got Starbucks, got Haagan Daz, got numerous seafood restaurants, and more and more pubs and discos! But the all-time favourite Banana Disco is still alive and kicking, heard they are now playing hip hop and techno, yeeks..not to my liking..anyway, with a pregnant boss and a whiny colleague along this trip, we did nothing except eating and going to massages at night when all the recces are done. Shopping sucks here too cos' they sell mostly touristy stuff like tees, imitation goods and DVDs. Yawn. Boring. I juz wish to have some time to go sunbathing, lie on the beach chair with my bikini and nua the whole afternoon...I hope the hubby could be deferred from his reservist in June so that he can come join me after my Conference...but I highly doubt so lah, the Nation has not given up on him yet. Fret.

Ok lah, gotta meet the agent for another round of recee...will upload pics in the next blog!

Monday Desperado

And so I was waiting for the bus to work this morning. This South African crept up from nowhere and started to ask if everyone is in the line waiting for the bus. I replied NO, but I was like, WTF, the bus stop serves many bus services, not just one, how could everyone be forming a line to wait for different buses?!

Anyway, he went on and rattled that he is from South Africa and it is his first time to Singapore..came here to buy 2nd hand computers and laptops and export them back to his native land to sell...blah blah and crap. Who cares? I wasn't interested at all. And he wasn't cute looking too. So when my bus finally came, I wanted to just say bye and zoom off to board the bus, but knn, he said he is also boarding the same bus cos' he is heading to Balestier Road!

So I purposely found a seat right next to the exit, but this darkie had to follow me and requested to sit next to me. And then he started the cock and bull stories again, telling me that I'm pretty (yah right!) and asked for my namecard or contact numbers. Well, if he is as good looking as Brad Pitt or suave as George Clooney, I wouldn't have hesitated. But he is neither! And best, he has bad breath! So out of courtesy, I told him politely that I have ran out of namecards, if he wants, he can give me his and I will drop him an email when I have the time. After searching all the possible pockets from his body, wallet and haversack frantically, he started to curse himself for leaving his cards in the Hotel and then took out his pen and searched again for a piece of paper to jot his contacts for me. By then, the bus has reached my destination and I stood up, rang the bell, zapped my ezylink card and waved bye bye to him. Wahahaha! What a Loser! You should see how dejected he was. He's probably trying to find some cheap thrills while in Singapore. Way to go Bugger! This ain't freaking South Africa, we Asians are not cheap and loose, we don't get hooked up or jumped into indecent proposals so easily. Try harder next time...go Geylang lah..should be able to meet some of his native frens there. Hiaks.

I is so sad. Now only ugly guys bio me...bor market value liao...sob!

Antz Attack!

The house is infested with creepy crawly ants and I'm so bushed out exterminating them for the past 1 hr! They are everywhere, in the kitchen, living room..and horror of all horrors, in my walk in wardrobe too! After much trailing, I've found some termites in one of the compartments and these freaking ants were having a gruesome time feasting onto them. Duh! There were couple of hundreds of them surrounding the termites that I nearly fainted. Usually I would just scream and the hubby will come to the rescue. But but..the hubby is not back from the trip so I had to be the ants buster and clean the shit up alone. Though now the termites were removed and all compartments were checked and wiped, these irksome creatures are still seen taking cool breeze walk around my wardrobe! Each time I check, I can easily spot 10 or more of them and twisting them to death with my ever so powerful finger tips. I'm so tired and helpless now, just tell me how to get rid of them totally pls. Sigh.

Caught up with good O'll Serene last friday after work. We had so much to chat under the moonlight that the night out only ended at 12am! Unlike the hubby, her fiance doesn't seem to have the habit of sending her home after her outings with friends, she has to make her own way home. Hmm..I think I'm still the lucky one, unless there are some specific reasons, the hubby is always at my beck and call when I'm out with other friends. I think that's his way of pampering me and I better not take advantage of his gesture.

It's 5pm and I'm still nua-ing at home. Originally planned to go Orchard for light shopping, but there were so many chores and stuff to do at home that now I'm half dead. Don't even wanna drive to mum's place for free dinner. The hubby's younger brother has wanted to loan the car out earlier, but hey, I have just topped up full tank, I is not stupid to let him go free ride with the car and having to re-top up the petrol after he emptied it. Not that I'm calculative, I think we have done enough to help him around.

I is so sticky and smelly now, going to take a colder shower and then catch up with Da Chang Jin!! Yeah!

I Went SKIVING!

Kekeke..I was arrowed to attend some dump arse IDC Conference at Suntec today. They spoke about emerging IT and Telcom trends in AsiaPac, the rising China and India GDP growth, the shrinking globalizations and what nots. *Yawn* It is so totally unrelated to my industry, so I took the lunch break and went for a shopping escapade, so much that I didn't even bothered to go back for the pm session. Haha..naughty me!

So here I am, nua-ing at home and without any dinner. Sulk. Pout. Fret.

Tempted to bring hubby's car out to feed it with petrol but I'm unsure of the route *bimbo look*
I is so scared kena stucked somewhere in the ulu samy road with an empty tank, that's gonna be so terribly embarrassing neh. How ah? Hmmm....

**Update
I is so proud of myself. At 8pm, I grabbed the car key and chionged my way to the petrol kiosk in Clementi Ave 2, pumped full tank for the hubby's baby, bought myself a chicken pie for dinner and scooted my way home. I is happy!

Home Alone Again

The hubby is out of town again. This time he has gone to catch Chang Jin back for me, keke..yes, I'm currently obssessed with the Korean dramas. Missed so many darn episodes while in India that I've lost track now. I'm gonna spend my coming weekends catching up with the show (with the loaned VCDS!) and nua-ing at home. But this stupiak Renne killed the fun and told the whole gin gang the ending of the show! Urggh! Why can't he juz shut his mouth and keep the suspense? So Chang Jin and that handsome guard got married and lived happily ever after? Kinda predictable lah, but I still wanna finish the show! Johnny Kok juz loaned me the 2nd season of Desperate Housewives also, so now I dunno which should I watch now, I'm spoilt for choice! Hiaks. I want to be a teebee freak!

Boy I'm so sleepy that I need toothpicks to keep both eyelids open! The rain is making me so unproductive and slacking, help! help!

He's Happy, I'm Happy

Haha..we are the proud owner of the 8th-series Honda Civic VTi-S yesterday!

Yeh, it was so ironical. Just when the hubby has decided to drop the idea of buying, his Honda agent fren called to inform him of an attractive package and zoom he went to check it out and signed on the dotted line.

We chose the Nighthawk Black Pearl cos' the hubby has been dreaming of owning a black car after driving 3 ah pek sliver cars for the past couple of years.

The qualm of it is that Honda is having overwhelming orders for the Civic, so we will only get our new car in September. Good timing, as we have to send the old car to scrap by end August.

The hubby is over the moon now, he gets his dream car, he gets the colour he likes, the most important of all, he gets to drive a new car paying the same amount of instalment he used to pay for his old car. Great deal isn't it? To sweeten the deal, I have decided to pull in some money for the initial down payment as well. Afterall it is OUR car and it is not a significant sum of money, so why not? I'm happy as long as he is =)

Now, no more big purchases for us till the end of the year. Bah!

We Really Look Alike Meh?

After dragging the hubby along to attend my boss's wedding last Sat, I have been receiving comments from colleagues, both local and overseas, that the hubby and I look so alike that they thought he is my BLATHER. Duh..do you hold hands and attend a wedding with your BLATHER? These people ah, damn cock. Let's juz say we both have the 夫妻相 lah.

Am looking forward to the long weekend ahead. The weather is so damn cool this morning, how I wish I could laze and surf TV channels in bed...*yawn* Daniel's mama is preparing a nasi lemak spread for us this Sat, the 2 grooms-to-be will also be announcing their BIG wedding plans to the whole gin gang too. Dreads. Angbaos and wedding dinners, don't you juz hate it? Anyway, Renne has the impromptu urge to organise a BBQ session at his condo tmr. TMR? Isn't it too late to book the BBQ pit now? Well, let's juz see...that slacker guy is all talk and no actions most of the time.

After the India events, the next project will be either the Dubai roadshow or the June's Disty Conference....in PHUKET! This week was busy attending the 1st Quarter Sales Review and other meetings, so work has kinda slowed down a little. Giving myself a short rest before pumping up my energy for the fresh week. The boss had a good and long talk with me yesterday. Yes, she told me to speak to our slacking exec, it's either she buck up or off she goes. She also shared that the other exec was initially quite disappointed on me coming on board, cos' she was expecting a promotion after being the "right-hand man" of the boss since 3 yrs ago. She doesn't have to worry, cos' she has been promised a promotion next Jan, I'm juz worried about the other gal who has been oblivious in her own world and not doing anything to improve her quality of work. Anyway, the boss also stressed that she is not afraid that I will take over her position, she can always do something else in the company. I'm like, WTF? The thought has not even crossed my mind! But she could say this out of the following:

1. She's insecure
2. She thinks I'm capable, she's relieved that I can resume her position and she wanna try new challenges in the company
3. She's jealous and I've bruised her ego by doing a good job in India
4. She juz thinks I'm capable and encourages me to strive harder

Whatever lah. I also don't wish to read too much in between the lines. I juz do what I'm supposed to do and do my best.

The hubby was happy that my events went well in India. But cautioned me that it is good to have those good comments come pouring in now, it is great that I'm recognised for my efforts put in, but whatever it is, I MUST definitely prepare myself for a defeat if it comes by. Cos' most of the successful people are so used to winning and performing that if something's amissed and failed, they juz slump down and can't take the defeat attack. Words of wisdom from the hubby, I shall log it in my tiny brain up there =)

I’ve Survived the India Ordeal!

I is back from India! How I miss Singapore, the hubby, the niece, the mummy, the house and the FOOD!

It was a hectic trip with back to back schedule for shows in 3 cities altogether but the experience gained was superb. Can’t really get used to the Indian food, they are either beans drowned in gross milky gravy or some puke-like spicy sauce that you have to dip your chapatti with. Yucks. So most of the time, I chose to go for pasta or sandwiches, though they are not necessary up to taste but still anytime better than Indian shit. Haha.

It was muar’s second trip to India. Of the 3 cities, Bangalore has the friendliest and efficient people, Delhi is the capital and people there are more well-to-do, so they could afford to put on an attitude and less humble. For Mumbai, it is a land of major slumps. The rich stays in high rise apartments, but the poors had to settle their house in slumps by the river or besides the roads. Some are as small as our HDB storeroom, with just a piece of aluminum sheet over their heads. It was such a saddening sight, some are so poor that could not afford to live in slumps and just spend their days sleeping on pavements and begging from foreigners.

My Bangalore hotel has this super big LG LCD teebee in front of my bed. Shiok!

Hotels in Bangalore are the most pricey, can't even beat hotels in Tokyo, France or Paris. My room in Bangalore cost as much as USD 220 a night, the facilities in the room has nothing to boast about except the LCD teebee.

Roads in Bangalore, we were on the way to the airport.

Indians are hell drivers. They honk and flash when you hog the roads. You simply can't nap in the car, cos' the costant swervings and e-brakings send chills to your spine. Warning: Next time if you travel to India, do bring along a blindfold, you will need it when you travel in the car.

I like the hotel in Delhi best. The decor is both modern and fusion, but a pity that I only get to stay there for a night.

This is outside the Mumbai domestic airport. We were stranded in the middle of the road waiting for our hotel drivers to fetch the cars for us.

Cool Cab! Equivalent to S'pore's taxi...haha.

Cheaper source of transportation - rickshaw. It charges by the meter, but was reported in the local papers that they drivers tamper with the meter to cheat passengers since the authority doesn't check or penalise these cheating drivers.

Intercontinental the Grand in Mumbai. The hotel has the biggest lobby in the city. Heard from sources that the huge flood last year destroyed their banquet rooms in the 2nd basement floor. Spent a bomb in refurbishing all the conference and banquet rooms. No wonder they charge us bloody high for the banquet packages.

Just outside my room is this slump.

My customer bought each of us a box of India harvest mangoes. Damn sweet!

Muar in Bollywood!

Yeh, juz reached Delhi. Flight was delayed a little cos' Jet Airways check in system cocked up and only recovered 10mins before departure. Duh, they dunno the essential of backups for, shld buy our backup system lah, stupiak.

Anyway, weather is super hot here, so much worst than S'pore, even sitting in the car makes me pig sweat. The hotel decor is niceeee! It has this mix of modern and fusion, will post up pics when back, CEO's luxury room is lagi more tekong ok? Cos' he had to rush for a lunch appt so I became his personal assistant and did his check in instead. Shld have grabbed my cam and shoot some pics juz now..urggh!

Last evening's event at Bangalore was great. We guaranteed 100pax but the whole army of resellers and end-users turned up. Believe it or not, my number soared to 175 at the end of the day!

DHL was cool too. Got my shipments on time despite what frigging bank strike on Monday afternoon. Now awaiting for their update on my Mumbai's shipment. Phew.

Gotta go..meeting the banquet person to discuss my event later..wish me luck!

Missing Really Do Makes the Heart Fonders

Have just finished packing for tmr's trip. Going to change some currency later for hotel tippings and misc expenses and then I'm all ready to go! But but....the shipment is still stucked...they claimed that it will be cleared by tmr and sent to the hotel in the evening, but how reliable is that? My every second and minute is spent worrying for this..sigh. My boss is gonna kill me when she's back tmr..sob!

It's Day 5 without the hubby around. Somehow the feeling is different without his presence, it's the emptiness that words can't describe. I know it's only 5 freaking days, he has gone for even longer business trips before (like 2 weeks?), but this time I really missed him to the core that I nearly weeped when he called last night. Yes, silly me, I think he has became so important in my life that I would feel totally lost without him. I suppose it's different this time becos' I dun get to fetch him at the airport when he's back nor he could send me off for my trip? The timing no good this time lah...sigh...better luck next time?

Miss you darling, hope your project cut over is successful last night. Muackz!
