More Shopping!

The part-time helper finally came yesterday.

Clad in pink spag top and jeans capri, she greeted me a friendly "Hello Mdm!" when I opened the door for her. Though a Filippino, she dun quite really understand the english I spoke to her, so most of the time I tried to simply my instructions and gave her some hand signs to ensure that we're in sync.

She was quite a great help actually, full of initiatives. She spotted dust on the study table while vacuuming the floor, so she quickly went to her handbag and reached for a piece of "wonder cloth" and started cleaning the table. When she vacuumed the living room, she made sure that she dragged the sofa out and clear the dust behind. I was impressed! The only complain I had was that she still needs a little practise on her ironing skills. Hubby Goh's working shirts still looked a little creasy after pressing, but well, nothing's perfect, unless I want to DIY again, which frankly I don't really have the energy to do anymore. In the end, I paid the helper a little more than her charging rates cos' she really helped to make the house spick and span again. Hope she won't be in her spagh top again next week, else Hubby Goh's gonna nose bleed (if he's at home) when she bent to do the mopping..haha!

Anyway, since the house was already tidied by the time Hubby Goh came back from work, we headed for early dinner and went Suntec for more shopping! This time we stocked up the baby changing mat, baby powder cases, bottle brush and a Hot Flask for my confinement use. I reckon it's good to purchase some of the necessities on a weekly basis, rather then to rush them all at once nearer the delivery date. It will help to spread out our expenses and let us have more time to prepare for some other important stuff during the 3rd tri.

Junior Goh's kickings have been quite intense lately. Initially it felt like stomach pulsating during week 16, then gradually it was like thumping, now at 23rd weeks, he's like practising "Wu Ying Jiao" inside the womb: the kicks have became powerful and strong, and that's perhaps he could have grown bigger and the space inside the womb became limited for his daily movement. :)

Anyway, it had became a routine for Hubby Goh to tell Baby Goh a bedtime story before we both goes to sleep. And before the lights are out, Hubby Goh will lean near my tummy and tell Baby Goh affectionately to sleep tight and not kick me throughout the night. He has been a good boy all along except last Friday when Hubby Goh had to attend a late night function and couldn't come home till 2am. Perhaps Baby Goh was staging a protest, he was so lively and kicking me non stop throughout the night that I hardly catch a good wink! So last night, the routine was back again, Hubby Goh spoke to Baby Goh again before we turned in and amazingly, the little one gave me an easy night and I woke up fresh and good this morning! Not sure it's all pure concidental, but it's just hard not to believe that babies inside us really do hear us! It's gonna be interesting to experiment more things on him while he is inside the womb!

Listening to Mozart now..it's making me sleepiak...and I think it has made Baby Goh sleepy too cos' the kicks had came to a halt! Haha...my little darling...

Taka Crazy Toy Sale

Was down at the Taka crazy toy sale last evening after work before going for my mani and pedicure appt nearby. I'm glad that I actually went in to check out the sale cos' the toys are really going at a CRAZY price! Could have bought more, but cos' last night the midnight shopping was on, so there was a massive crowd and people were pushing and shoving each other, irregardless of whether you're pregnant or not.

Sigh, talk about civilisation in S'pore!

Anyway, here were my best buys, all the Pooh series toys!!

This 6" Pooh plush only cost $6:

The five castle towers cost $8 (UP $18.90)...

This Pooh Pop Up is $10 (UP $24.90)

Lastly, I couldn't resist buying this from Fox Baby, only $10!

Someone has to stop me from going on shopping sprees alone again... *grin*

The Name Game

SY asked in her blog if I've already thought of a name for Junior Goh. Hmm...frankly so far, after weeks of research, we only found two names which we like but we are still keeping our options open and doing more research to find the ideal one for him.

No clues on what the two names are yet, you will know when Junior is born. Hee..

As for the chinese name, yeh, we are gonna get the expert to do it for us. Heard it's $88 to get a set of name, not too expensive mah, so instead of cracking our brains, we leave it to the expert's advice.

There are still so many things undone and not bought yet, dun quite know where to start and how. Now I just want to tekan Hubby Goh to repaint a side of the bb's room wall so that it looks cosier and more like a nursery. I'm sure he's gonna scream at me when I propose THE idea to him, haha. I don't care, I just want a new colour lor. The plan is when the wall has a new coat of pain, we will then get the necessary furniture in, the playpen, and start to pack the clothes and stuff to the right place. Currently, the storeroom is in a massive mess, Junior's new clothes are all packed in plastic bags and thrown everywhere, the sterilizer, the milk bottles, the pram...aiyo...I wish we had bigger space :)

And so..yeah..it's TGIF!

Diva Goes Mani and Pedicure

Hee. Being preggie is such a perfect excuse to pamper myself with treats and deeds.

Now the bump is nearing the size of a rock melon, I can hardly reach my toes to trim the nails and remove the old coat of pain. The last time's mani and pedicure session was like more than a month ago for Ser's wedding. The outlet at vivo sucks at nail art but charge us rocket high rates. This time I'm gonna try the one at Far Easting Shopping Center, they have this mango tango pedicure at $38 that comes free with an express buff manicure. I like!

And weeee! Hubby Goh has finally engaged a part time domestic maid to ease my load off the piling housework at home. I no longer need to put on the fugly gloves and scrub the smelly toilet or stand for a whopping hour ironing Hubby Goh's working shirts.

Now, what does a Diva do on wkends when she doesn't need to housework? Tell me, tell me!

Drained

Boy do I feel drained out after the photoshoot in the morning, solving an impossible crisis for one of my gals, and exhausting my brain for work, work, and more work.

Right now, I just feel like throwing all the mountain high piled up work aside and bury myself under the duvet and sleep till like there's no tomorrow.

I is really tired :(

And I hope the worst is not coming true - the boss could be pregnant again! OMG! That's as bad as a tsunami attack no. 2.

Oh goodness, I really hope it's false news.

BB Goh is Growing Well *grin*

I almost forgot and I shouldn't have forgotten... to update about BB Goh.

Well, the 5th month check up last Friday (Friday the 13th) went on well and smooth. The first question I asked as I was getting ready for the scan was "Is it still a BOY?".

Dr Chan was amused by this silly MTB, but well I just want to reconfirm my doubts that BB Goh is really a boy and there will be no "surprises" during the delivery. Ok, I admit, I was still secretly praying that it turns out to be a gal la....but Dr Chan again shattered my hope cos' twice he managed to locate BB Goh's di di and even superimposed it to prove me wrong. Oh well...ok lor..great...I'm really having a boy boy! Hee..

Statistics Update:

BB Goh weighed 443gm @ 20weeks and 5 days
- Dr Chan had a hard time measuring his head cos' he was lying in a rather awkard position facing us, so he had to agar-agar the measurements based on what he can locate. According to him, BB Goh is growing well and like his daddy and mummy, he is longer and bigger than an average baby. Cool!

My weight gain = 1.4kg since 4 weeks ago
- I'm glad that I didn't ballooned to more than 2 kg this month. Probably it's due to exercising and cutting down on carbo intake. I should persevere in the gym and do my routine swim over the weekend to keep up with it. Dr Chan is quite pleased that I'm watching my weight consciously so he didn't nag at me like the way he did with the other forum gals. Hee. So far, total weight gain is 5.4kg, don't think I can follow the sister's footstep to maintain a mere 8kg weight gain till birth. Sob. I'm targetting at 14kg the max, 2kg only for each remaining month (4 months). Hope I can achieve it.

Been hearing loads of horror stories about labour pain and stuff. Personally I don't have a high threshold for pain but I do hope I have the determination to reject epidural. Like Florence mentioned, Positive Mind Positive Thinking...if you think you don't want it, you will not want it. She's one super heroine to go through the entire course of labour pain without epidural, just like my sista, mummy and Poey Ee. And I want to be like them. If they can do it, I can also do it :)

Updates

It was good having the chance to rest again last Thu and Fri while the entire company was off to BKK for the annual company trip.

Hubby and I made another trip down to Baby's HyperStore last Fri, this time to get the mini chair I needed and extra mattress cover for Junior Goh's new mattress. Of all the places and timing, yours truly bumped into an ex-fling while stepping out of the lift from the Store. I didn't quite recognise him (cos' the fling was like more than 3yrs ago before I met Hubby Goh?!) till I noticed that this man in crew cut and wearing lime green tee keep staring hard at me. I took a second look and glanced at his supposed-ly wife (cos' she's preggie too and tummy bigger than mine), boy did I feel so good to know why he had decided to cheat on his the-then girlfriend (should be the wife now la) to be with me..haha. Naughty naughty me! Anyway, those were the days, and I'm just glad that I've made the right choice by putting a stop to the fling and accepted Hubby Goh *grin*

Oh, did I mention my recent obsession in online shopping? Haha..

I think I have been a cheapskate MTB, cos' so far I bought a couple of 2nd hand stuff from Yahoo Auction for Junior Goh..

Playpen = $50 (comes with free mattress and covers)
Washable toys (condition as gd as new!) = $30
Classical music for bb = $9
Maternity book = $9
Brand new anti-slip bath tub mat for bb = $4

....and more to add to the list...hehe..

I think this is call PRUDENT spending bah...cos' it's always not necessary to get brand new stuff as sometimes 2nd hand ones work as good as new. I think the playpen was a good bargain, since bbs usually dun sleep long in it, so it doesn't make sense to pay $200 to get a new set. Let's call me a SMART MTB bah..

I wan I wan...to do more online shopping!

Halfway Mark

How time flies and yours truly is oledie 5mths preggie!

Been monitoring Junior Goh's kickings and realised that he is active at 5am, between 3-4pm, and between 10-11pm. Been surfing the net alot to find out how best to communicate and bond with him while he's in my womb. I think he likes it when he hears the mummy sing cos' his kicks get more intense than usual, or is it that he's asking me to shut-up? Hmmm....naughty naughty..Daddy Goh is polishing up his story-book reading skills after he heard Mummy Goh doing a superb job last night. Haha..little did he know muar used to be the narrator for the Company's corporate videos and emcee for many events. Tarzan 不知 orh yee orh...wanna fight with me??

Attended baby Xinxuan's shower party last Saturday with Hubby Goh at Oleander Towers. The tiny little darling slept all through even with all the aunties and uncles coo-ing beside her. I had the priviledge of carrying her in my arms for close to an hr...feels so motherly and good, but just that the left arm started to get a little sore after a while. Haha...time to do more weights to train the arm muscles! By then should be ready for Junior Goh!

It was great catching up with the rest of the couples. We were counting, by next year's CNY, there will be 6 cuties in our group. Daniel and HH's place will have to get ready a nursery for the upcoming demand and those still enjoying couplehood would have to save up to distribute more angbaos next year. Hur Hur Hur... By then Junior Goh would be 3 months old and hopefully fits into the Osh Kosh outfit which his "dua yee" (my sista) has just bought at the recent Osh Kosh Sale in New York. Ops! I forgot to take pics of all the clothes she has bought! They are super cheap lor, one tee for only USD4.99! Where to find? Junior Goh's Daddy said he's gonna shop for similar stripes Polo tee for CNY next year so that father and son can look identical. Urghh...I feel so left out! But I think they are gonna look cute together...hee! My two darling boys!

Come tmr, I will have no garmen in the office...hehe. They are jet-setting to BKK for the Quarterly Review Meeting follow by the company's trip. They can jolly well enjoy their pad thai and tomyam soup there, I will go for my well-deserved break and nua at home on Thu and Fri. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Girls' Night Out

Met up with the lovely bunch of ex-colleagues last night at Hey Hey Hotpot for dinner.

Their company was great (as usual!) and I love hanging out with these gals cos' they are always sincere and never ever stingy with compliments. They still look superbly good, all chio chio and slim slim, of cos' with the exception of me lah.

We talked about everything and anything under the sun..er..moon I mean. Ivy is always the attention seeker who dominated all our conversations throughout the night. But that's ok. She made us laff and I think what's important in a conversation is that everyone had a good laff and a good time chipping in the bits and pieces. I really had a good time with them.

And yeah, Lindy prompted us a number each to buy toto for today's draw. Junior Goh contributed a number too, so now we juz have to wait for the golden moment to arrive. Linda was so confident of the win, haha...she even dreamt of calling for a limo from her workplace to go Paradiz Center (S'pore Pool's HQ) to collect the winning money next Monday! Dat woman huh...

Went home at 11pm and immediately knocked out after the shower. I think we should do this often to catch up, hopefully not wait till the bb shower? Hehe..

What Comes Round, Goes Round..

Such a joke of the year!

To think that a couple of wks back she called me a "Factory" and "Productive" just cos't I'm preggie, now, we heard from reliable source that she's preggie too!!

And well, her wedding was only like less than a month back? Duh. Roll eyes.

She hasn't share the news, and I also dun care. Juz wish she has a pleasant preggie journey ahead and god bless her.

I Want! I Want!

Eyeing on this currently, the LV Neverfull Range...

Now on serious deliberation if should get. Went to check out the LV boutique at Ngee Ann City last Sun and it was ridiculously out of stock!! No wonder Joreen sped to buy it on the very first day it was launched.

Urggh. I hope they don't adjust the price when the new stocks come in.
