Food Reviewssss...

As promised, here's the pic of last Sun's lunchie - Roast Chicken Leg with Jap Curry Rice:

The roast chicken was fantastic. Just first bite of the meat, you can savour the white wine taste which is awesome. The milk and the spicies I've added later on to the marination made the skin both crispy and superbly tasty..yum yum. But one thing to caution is to grill the chicken legs alone, it will take near to an hour to do so, so buffer more time for the chicken, otherwise your instant curry mix will have to be reheated numerous times before the chicken is finally cooked!

As for the Japanese curry..well...ermm..frankly I'm not really a big fan of Japanese curry. The mild hot version was NOT HOT at all, and if you have known me by now, I'm not a spicy risk taker, so to rate their mild hot indication, it can't be even compared to the sweet chilli sauce Burger King offers. I think it was more like sweet than spicy??

You should be able to guess which one's mine and which one's the hubby's right?

Check out the humongous Roasted Chicken Leg...I can do without the Jap curry...just the chicken and rice will do. *wink*

Are you hungry now?? Hee...

Now, about the Buffet Dinner at Meritius Negara Hotel last evening with SY? For the price we have paid last night, the Brazilian Churrasco buffet was not too bad lah, considered that we had tasted all the various meats except the smelly stinko lamb. But I had tasted better ones in the Brazilian Churrasco restaurant in Sixth Avenue lah..I think the meats were treated much better than what the Hotel serves?

Anyway, personally I like the sausages best, they have the plain ones, those that wrapped with bacon, and the black pepper ones. The ham was good too, and it complements well with the grilled pineapple too. For the beef and pork ribs, I think we ate fats more than the usual tender meat you find in a normal rib set. And for the beef steak and even sirloin, ermm...it's either too bloody or too overcooked (tough)...I haven't had so much meat in my life before, the sudden turn of being a carnivorous last night made my stomach turned a little, haha..no more meats buffet at least for 3 months man...

Desserts! Yeh...talk about desserts, I think SY enjoyed desserts (and the rock melon) than the meats..haha. We both agreed that this tiny Oreo shot was the best...very limited on the shelve cos we don't see them replenishing them, so pls grab when you see them, otherwise live with regrets.

Next comes the Chocolate fondue. The spread was not bad, they have kiwis, strawberries, marsmellows (big and small), puffs and even prunes! I quite like the texture of the chocolate, not too thick nor mild and best of all, not too sweet! SY complaint that it is not as good as the one served in Traders Hotel. Frankly, I don't really remember the taste liao, but I think it was darker than the ones we had last night.

Artistic not?

Besides the meats and the desserts, they also have this pathetic range of seafood spread, like unfresh oysters, mussles, flower crabs and prawns. Pasta range was also limited, I think I only had italian risotto and button pasta? We reckoned that what we had last night was not the normal full fledge spread they offer cos' of the Monday promotion for the ladies. True enough, a check of last night's turnout, I think 80% were mostly ladies, there were only a handful of men around except the service staff. Go check them out tonight? It might juz be another dead town, hur hur hur..
