The Little One

Was down at the niece's chinese school's term review last evening. It was an interesting event, there were no stage, no proper chairs, no sound system or anything, they juz removed the library shelves and turned it to an amazing mini hall with kids sitting on the floor and parents standing outside the glass panels watching their kids in glee.

The niece has been speaking way too much english at home, even with the ah gong and ah mah, they had to struggle to sing her language most of the time as she had trouble expressing herself in mandarin or even hokkien to them. So last night, it was an eye-opener for us as we saw how spontaneous she was, raising her hands ever so excitedly to perform short poems and songs for all her fellow course mates and teachers. This gal was not shy at all! She stood out to be the "leader" in her class and she knows every single action for every single words she has said. Well done! Now the ah gong can't nag at the mama for sending her to schools at this young age! You reap what you sow, isn't it?

And so this morning, the hubby made a shocking confession that he felt envious of the parents of the kids last night. His paternal instincts are obviously kicking in as he mentioned how nice it will be to have a kid this old, calling him papa and waving at him last night in the school instead of the niece. I was completely stunned! As I didn't know he wanted a kid so badly.. but sorry Darling, this is not the right time for us to try for a baby now as 1) I'm on a new job and can't get pregnant till 4 months later, else the company is not going to let me claim maternity leave 2) The boss is pregnant now, if I'm too, the marketing team will close shop.

I know the bio-clock is ticking furiously inside me now, but I don't have a choice. All is pre-destined and I believe it is just better to take things as it is and let nature takes its course. It sounds pretty easy for some gals to get pregnant but for some it took them more time. Dunno abt me, but I always feel that I is infertlile..haha. Time to get a gynae to check things out before the hubby force poison down my throat and remarry, just like how the king sent his troops to kill the desposed queen in the Da Chang Jing show. Hur hur hur...
