It's So Hard to Say Goodbye

I thought I would be strong but I was not afterall. Bidding V goodbye on her last day at work sucks big time. She was busy packing her stuff in the room when I walked in intended to give her a handshake and say goodbye before I go for the day on last Friday. Her eyes were moist and she covered her face and asked me to go go go...but we ended up hugging each other and cried instead.

We didn't started out this close. In fact, she was kinda hostile to me when I came on board. Things only started to change when I got pregnant and it was this topic that bonded us together and drew closer. We shared the downs in the office as we were pretty much in the same boat, and also shared the ups of motherhood. Somehow it was her that made my life in the company less miserable. It was kinda ironical too..as I was the one who kept on bugging her to hunt for jobs and well, she got it and I haven't....sigh...how sad.

Nevertheless, I wish her all the best in the new job. Though it's a totally different industry, I hope she can excel in the new position and be successful. My only regret is that we should have "hooked up" to each other earlier...but yeh..we'll still keep contact and keep the friendship going..
