More Shopping!
Baby Hyperstore carries more of Maclaren prams and some cheap brands. Wasn't really impressed with the service as the group of Malay sales ladies were talking among themselves rather than serving the customers. We only took less than 20mins browsing around, grabbed a white baby bath tub that was on sale and left.
Baby Kingdom, juz a couple of steps away, provided much better service than Hyperstore. The sales staff were friendly, they greeted us and left us to view the show pieces and told us to grab their attention when we need assistance. Found the Capella model of pram we saw at John Little there, but the price was exactly the same and there was no further discount. The "auntie" recommended another model of the same brand, but cheaper. It not only has the AB handle system we wanted, it also comes with four-wheelers which facilitates easy manoevuring. I like it cos' it was in shades of red and gray *bimbo* and hubby goh liked it as you only need to activate a button to fold the pram together for keeping. Needless to say, we bought the latter and end up $279 poorer...haha.
Also bought junior goh bolsters and pillow, and I chose the classic pooh casings in blue..hehe. I is so happy!
Here's the shopping list again:
1. Sterilizer - for milk bottles *checked!*
2. Pram - combi for infant and toddler use *checked!*
3. Airpot - for making milk
4. Baby bath tub *checked!*
5. Chest of drawers - to store bb's clothes
6. Bed frame for the guest room -for confinement lady and bb's future bed when he's bigger..
7. Playpen - for bb to sleep, probably gonna bid for a 2nd hand one in Yahoo Auction since babies dun usually sleep long in them
8. Some miscellaneous stuff - bb nail clipper, bb thermometer, hankies, diapers, powder, cotton balls, more clothes, etc..
Oh no...more to spend! It's right that it's not darn cheap to have a baby...and to raise one.
So far, Hubby Goh and I are both waiting earnestly for the birth of junior goh. He has been so far the sweetest, though I will award him with full marks if he's not still taking his time to hire a part time domestic maid for me to do the ironings and to ease him with the wkend vacuuming and mopping of floor.
Some updates: Junior Goh has been starting to kick the mummy since the 16th weeks. The kicks feel like little pushes in the womb, sometimes so intense, but sometimes so mild. It does feel good, esp you know that he is alive and kicking happily inside. But some cautioned that the kicks will become like karate and more painful during the 3rd tri...hmmm...I like the challenge and if it's proved too much to take, the boy will get some spankings when he's finally out..haha.
Hubby Goh has also been religiously telling bedtime stories to the little one everynight. He said that's the least he can do for him, other than feeding me with all the goodies and make sure that he will come out in the pinkest of health. Not that we are kiasu parents or what, but I always believe that if you want to achieve something (like bonding with Junior Goh and developing him to have the good reading habit next time), a little effort is required. Why go to the extend of sending him to the expensive Enrichment classes when he is older where all you need now is to spare just 5mins everynight to communicate and read stories to him?
Am also exposing him to all kinds of music now, from pop to jazz, to even oldies..hehe..oh, that reminds me that I should go loan Megen's nursery collections since she's no longer listening to them.
Ah...feeling the hungry pangs now, better go feed myself before the tummy hurts.....
to be continued...
